The key difference? Parents aren’t depriving children of their education. Schools have legal duties under the Education Act, the Equality Act and EHCPs. Isolation isn’t automatically wrong, but comparing it to “go to your room” oversimplifies a much more complex issue.

This is probably why education should steer clear of this type of media. In a clicks driven format, people are going to keep getting booked to appear based on outrage or ridiculous viewpoints rather than audience value.

I don’t do that for not wearing the correct socks or forgetting a text book or for failing a test or for objecting to a person who threatened to rape me being in school , or for not giving eye contact or sighing or eye rolling . Or not sitting up straight or not doing a chore

What a bloody disgrace to the profession these are. How on earth does he know what parents do! And who in their right mind imagines being sent to your room is anywhere close to isolation in school. Rogers is a disgrace. Ok he failed as a teacher admit to that. Don’t abuse parents

I was only grounded once, & I had a huge meltdown bc it prevented me going to my special interest. I don’t think I’ve ever grounded my kids as tbh they’re not interested in going out & about much so it wouldn’t really have an impact. Cleaning the house, washing-that works.
