To make it simple for everyone: The Posse Comitatus Act prohibits the usage of federal military forces to enforce domestic laws within the United States. However, there is an exception to the Posse Comitatus Act, known as the Insurrection Act, which allows the President to bypass Posse Comitatus in the event of insurrection. Mind you, the actions of Pritzker and Johnson over the last few months, openly engaging in rebellion and refusing to enforce the laws in Chicago, meet the legal criteria for “insurrection”, which is also extremely vague and essentially up to POTUS’ discretion. In conclusion, the Supreme Court confirmed that if Trump wants to send troops to Chicago, he will need to bypass Posse Comitatus by invoking the Insurrection Act. Meaning, that the only thing standing between Trump legally sending troops to Chicago, and any city he wants, is a public proclamation that he is invoking the Insurrection Act and a public warning for the insurrectionists to disperse, before sending in the troops. A man is urgently seeking public assistance to apprehend two fraudsters who scammed him of GH¢28,000 at the Legon Police Station in the Greater Accra Region. According to details the victim shared with ASK, one of the fraudsters posed as an agent, while the other, dressed in a wine-colored outfit, pretended to be the landlord. After negotiations, the supposed landlord called the victim and asked him to meet at the Legon Police Station to sign the rental contract. He claimed his car had been involved in an accident and that he was at the MTTD handling the matter. The victim went to the station, signed the documents, paid the full amount, and was handed the keys to the non-existent apartment in Dansoman. Lawrence Reed allegedly poured a flammable liquid on a 26-year-old white woman and set her on fire onboard a CTA train this week is now facing federal terrorism charges. According to charging documents filed in the U.S. District Court’s Northern District of Illinois, 50-year-old Lawrence Reed is being charged with a federal count of committing a terrorist attack on a mass transit system. He is accused of setting a 26-year-old white woman on fire as she rode on a CTA Blue Line train in the Loop on Monday night, with the woman hospitalized in critical condition due to the severe injuries she suffered. According to the charging document, Chicago police were called to the Clark/Lake train stop just before 9:30 p.m. Monday for reports of a woman who had been on fire at the location. When they arrived, they found that victim, who had suffered severe burns to her face and body. When police got onboard a Blue Line train at the station, they found a partially melted bottle, a lighter, flammable liquid and other evidence on a seat where the woman had been positioned onboard the train, according to the charging documents. Surveillance footage from the train showed the woman sitting inside a car, and Reed seated on the opposite side of the train. At some point he allegedly got up and approached her. He then poured the liquid on her and attempted to ignite the liquid. She fought him off and ran to the front of the train. He then ignited the bottle and dropped it on the floor. Reed picked up the bottle, approached her and lit her on fire. The woman got off the train at Clark and Lake. Reed exited the train car and walked away. Bystanders were able to help put the fire out, and paramedics rushed her to a nearby hospital. According to surveillance footage obtained during the investigation, Chicago police believe Reed filled the bottle with gasoline at a gas station in the 3300 block of West Harrison, approximately 20 minutes before the attack. He was seen boarding the train at Kedzie and Congress shortly thereafter, police said. When Reed was taken into custody on Tuesday morning, police allege he was wearing the same clothing he had been shown wearing on the surveillance footage. He also had a burn wound on his right hand, and had in his possession a CTA card that had allowed him access to the Blue Line train at Kedzie and Congress on Monday night, the charging document said. He then turned the car around, reached the nearest American unit and organized an attack that reopened the road, allowing the rest of the column to advance. His actions between August 6 and 8 earned him his second Distinguished Service Cross. In this NARA footage, McLain watches Allied vehicles entering Alençon, Normandy, in August 1944. We were arrested by plainclothes police officers and taken to Lang’ata Police Station. The officers later informed us that CJ Maraga, being a senior citizen, was free to leave. But he refused. We were arrested by plainclothes police officers and taken to Lang’ata Police Station. The officers later informed us that CJ Maraga, being a senior citizen, was free to leave. But he refused. Instead of securing his own freedom, he chose to stand in solidarity with those he had been arrested alongside. He made it clear that he would only leave once everyone else was released. If that did not happen, he was prepared to spend the night in the cells with us. That moment spoke volumes about his character.
