Utah Bill to Strip Public Assistance from Undocumented Immigrants, those in the state illegally Passes Committee 7-3 Utah lawmakers are debating House Bill 88, sponsored by Rep. Trevor Lee, a Republican from Layton. This bill would require strict verification of lawful presence in the U.S. before anyone 18 or older can receive most state or locally funded public benefits. It removes many current exceptions, meaning programs like WIC nutrition for women, infants, and children, food assistance, vaccinations, treatment for communicable diseases, housing aid, homeless services, and non-emergency health care could be off-limits to those without legal status. Emergency medical care and short-term disaster relief would still be allowed regardless of immigration status. Bill sponsor Rep. Trevor Lee, calls it a "priority bill to put Utahns first," arguing taxpayer dollars should go to citizens and legal residents, not undocumented immigrants, and that it reduces incentives for illegal immigration. Critics, including the ACLU of Utah, Voices for Utah Children, health departments, and anti-hunger groups, say it's harmful—potentially endangering public health by limiting vaccines and disease treatment, hurting mixed-status families and kids, and creating barriers for nonprofits like food pantries. Kratom is no joke. The opioid-type drug has been under the radar for years. It is not regulated nor illegal. It comes from a leaf of a Southeast Asia plant, but manufacturers often increase the amount of 7 Hydroxy in what is sold to hook buyers. It is known as "Gas Station Heroin." Two students at Ole Miss are dead and packaged Kratom was at the scene. I don't believe in coincidences in this situation. Below is the dispatch call for one of the ODs. Ole Miss is warning students not to buy Kratom and that Narcan is being dispensed in the vending machines. Narcan works on those who may have overdosed from Kratom. Campus officials are saying this for a reason. Take heed. I will stay on this story. Authorities are not saying for sure if the deaths are related. #OleMiss #Kratom

Amid FDA calls to ban kratom/7-OH, Cato Institute Senior Fellow Jeffrey A. Singer claims there are no confirmed overdose deaths and that TYLENOL is responsible for far more poisonings. “Out of 600,000 calls to the poison control centers in the United States… 53 were related to 7-OH or kratom, or 0.00009%, as opposed to, for comparison during that same period, 11% were from Tylenol overdoses.”

The recent sweeping up of the streets in Winnipeg resulted in no change in public safety despite being extremely costly. These police sweeps have targeted areas where people receive medical and mental health care, pushing people away from vital services. This was a wasteful exercise that targeted areas where people receive mental health and addiction supports. It only led to more deaths as a result of the toxic drug crisis. We’re now facing a mental health and addictions crisis, a housing crisis, and an HIV crisis in Winnipeg. It’s time to listen to the voices of public health and safety experts and act on their calls to address the underlying causes of these crises, including supports for affordable, rent-geared-to-income housing, public healthcare and mental health services, and youth programming.

UPDATE: Charlie Kirk 🚨 Utah Dispatch says No Autopsy was Performed on Charlie Kirk Kinda suspect…. 🤔 In Utah, an autopsy is mandatory in cases of murder or assassination (both classified as homicides) if the medical examiner determines it is necessary to establish the cause and manner of death, aid in criminal prosecution, or protect an innocent person from accusation. This falls under Utah's medical examiner laws, which require the state medical examiner to investigate and assume custody of bodies in violent or suspicious deaths, including homicides. Remember, Turning Point USA spokesman Andrew Kolvet said Kolvet said the doctor described Kirk’s bone as “so healthy” and “so impressive that he’s like the man of steel.” The bullet was eventually found lodged just beneath the skin. Other reports say the coroner found it.

This is confirmed by Utah Public Safety the Farm Service Agency, which reported no AFIDA filings last year. Thanks to HB516, Utah now prohibits adversarial foreign entities from purchasing land and requires those that already own it to sell. We’ll keep defending Utah land and liberty. 🇺🇸
