Part of Nintendo's E3 1996 B-Roll (recently digitized by VGHF) includes early footage of Mario Kart 64, then known as Super Mario Kart R! In this clip you'll find a different title screen, different character icons, and Kamek the Magikoopa as a playable racer.

It's a tragedy that Kamek only gets to be playable once as late DLC in MK8D and then immediately shunted away as an item in MKW afterwards.

Funny how the bonus orbs have the same color scheme as NeXT Computer from Steve Jobs!

You archivists are ALWAYS acting like “digitizing” means “You’ve never ONCE seen this before!” Yes, VGHF, I was quite well aware of Mario Kart R in the 90s.
