Producers are forced to comply with new government regulations that kick in, and if they can't, they must use carbon credits that they have to purchase. All of these things are costs paid by the producer, which are ultimately passed downstream to the consumer. This is Canada's new carbon tax that we will be paying at the pump.

House rules are very clear that any income tax increase requires 3/5 support of the full house. If you want to increase income taxes, you have to get 3/5 of the house to support it. You all decided you do not want that rule to apply to this bill. The only reason why you would do so is because you know your bill does in fact increase income taxes.
