I'm still playing with 3D storyboards for Seedance 2.0. Even when I ask for a 2D video, using a 3D storyboard often pushes the model toward a 3D look. I haven't tested it extensively yet but there definitely seems to be a bias. So 2D storyboards work better for 2D videos, while 3D storyboards are better suited for 3D or photorealistic outputs. Another thing I found is that my video prompt is already very detailed. If I remove the storyboard section and generate the video without attaching a storyboard, the model still follows the same beats. The main difference is the environment. With a storyboard, it tends to recreate an environment that closely matches the storyboard. I also think storyboards help with certain poses and compositions. Some of my storyboards from the opening of The Wild Robot. I liked the idea of the first shot in the film (after the pull-out from her eye) being Roz in a fetal position for "The Robot Hatches." But the idea got lost as it went through the production pipeline. I ended up using some stock photography and videos for some of the water in this scene. I think because the environment was such a character for us in these opening scenes. The photography seemed to help me to sell the contrast between Roz and the wilderness.

Can I be obsessed over this minor but huge detail? 🥲 The host was asking about AHOF and everybody got the mic but all of them were looking at each other waiting who would answer, some were looking at Woongki's direction too so Woongki got the mic to fight the dead air and answer the host I know important events like this can get nerve-wracking but I'm just glad that the AHOF members trust and rely on Woongki to speak for the whole group and we can say he really is the appointed spokesperson for the whole group 🫳🏻

It looks like these sketch-style storyboards work really well in Seedance 2.0. I'm going to stick with this approach for a while. In the video prompt, I only include intent, style, reference and visual approach. It follows the storyboard surprisingly well. I'm sharing below the GPT Image 2 prompt I use to create the previs, along with the video prompt I use afterwards. Created on @MartiniArt_

M+8: The ISS has multiple airlocks, some are designed for astronauts and equipment, and others like this one, the JEM airlock from the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency, are designed not for humans but for small payloads. This particular airlock is positioned next to a Japanese platform for payloads that sits outside the ISS. We can use this airlock to take stuff inside to space, or from space to inside. 大西卓哉 （JAXA宇宙飛行士）Takuya Onishi and I worked together to assemble the sliding table so that we can deliver science payloads to the outside of the International Space Station. Then we double checked the airlock interior to ensure we didn’t leave any tools or equipment inside which could get unintentionally lost in space.
