@ontexasfootball Even if he sits behind Ewers for another year, he has the possibility of being the QB at Texas for THREE years. His chances of making in the pros goes up by doing that. Three years of playing is better than 2 years of being a pro backup holding a clipboard.

@ontexasfootball He’ll make an de-risked $2-3mm a year avoiding injury, maturing, learning the game and getting stronger. As a 20 year old he’ll either have the opportunity to start or go to the league. Sounds like the optimal spot to be in.
