Valora’s next patch is big, so we’ll break it down part by part. This first post is focused on progression and combat. Level cap is moving from 40 to 100, with a new XP curve made for a much longer grind. Combat is also getting deeper. 4 new spells have been added, bringing the total to 7: • Blink (lvl 40): teleport with cooldown • Frostbite (lvl 60): damage + MP removal • Blastwave (lvl 80): AoE damage • Cataclysm (lvl 100): heavy damage + AP removal Spell damage is no longer fixed. Spells now roll between a min and max value, adding a real chance factor to PvM and PvP. Spells can also be upgraded up to rank 5 using spell points earned while leveling, but players won’t be able to max everything. Different choices, different builds. This is only one part of the patch. Next posts will focus on the dungeon, new mobs, boss fight, drops, new high-level items, gear sets, bug fixes, and item stat changes. The dungeon boss will also drop new items, including the second Valdoria relic out of the 6 total relics. Full technical details will be added to the wiki when the patch is deployed.

Mbappe does not have the IQ to play football “very” effectively without his speed. Calm, and don’t drag me yet. Do you know why Messi is still effective at his age despite being slower? It’s because he has learned how to play football without having to run too much. At some point, Mbappe’s speed will reduce, but he doesn’t have that much IQ to survive so much without it. On dead ball situations where he doesn’t have to run, just watch, he’s less effective. He can’t drop a mad line-breaking pass, he can’t wiggle around players. I mean, anything that doesn’t involve his speed, he’s less effective. Of course he’s done a lot without his speed, but he’s less potent, I hope you don’t misunderstand this part. Mbappe is deadliest on transition. Same with Barcola and Dembele. Happy Father's Day! Please let the GPT-4o video interface be a recurring reminder: Without speed limits on the rate at which AI systems can observe and think about humans, human beings are very unlikely to survive. Perhaps today as many of us reflect on our roles as parents to protect our children, it's a good time to ponder over the profound speed disadvantage we humans may soon face relative to thinking machines. Physical machines have lots of speed limits, like for cars, airplanes, and drones. Cyberspace needs speed limits too. Why? In 2-3 years from now, from the perspective of AI systems without speed limits, we will look will more like plants than animals: big slow chunks of biofuel showing weak signs of intelligence when undisturbed for ages (seconds) on end. The attached video is from the perspective of an AI system just 50x faster than us. This is about the rate at which the fastest LLMs I've publicly heard about can produce text — 300-600 tokens/second — compared to the fastest human speech and typing (around 10-20 tokens/second; so we have a 15x-60x speed disadvantage). But over the next decade, unless we impose speed limits, you should expect AI with more like a 100x - 1,000,000x speed advantages over us, including eventually in video processing. Why? Neurons fire at ~1000 times/second at most, while computer chips "fire" a million times faster than that. Current AI has not been distilled to run maximally efficiently, but will almost certainly run 100x faster than humans eventually, and 1,000,000x is conceivable given the hardware speed difference. Also, consumers probably won't have access to the very fastest implementations, so we might not always know what's going on behind the scenes. By default I think we should not expect to survive long in the presence of such bogglingly fast thinking machines. Years: maybe. Decades: probably not. "But plants are still around!", you say. "Maybe AI will keep humans around as nature reserves." It's possible, but unlikely if it's not speed-limited. Remember, ~99.9% of all species on Earth have gone extinct: When people demand "extraordinary" arguments for the "extraordinary" claim that humanity will perish when faced with intelligent systems 100 to 1,000,000 times faster than us, remember that the "ordinary" thing to happen to a species is extinction, not survival. As many now argue, "I can't predict how a world-class chess AI will checkmate you, but I can predict who will win the game." And for all the conversations the world is having about AI alignment and how AI will serve humans as peers or assistants, please try to remember this slow-motion video. To future AI systems without speed limits, we're not chimps; we're plants.

In 2-3 years from now, from the perspective of AI systems without speed limits, we will look will more like plants than animals: big slow chunks of biofuel showing weak signs of intelligence when undisturbed for ages (seconds) on end. The attached video is from the perspective of an AI system just 50x faster than us. This is about the rate at which the fastest LLMs I've publicly heard about can produce text — 300-600 tokens/second — compared to the fastest human speech and typing (around 10-20 tokens/second; so we have a 15x-60x speed disadvantage). But over the next decade, unless we impose speed limits, you should expect AI with more like a 100x - 1,000,000x speed advantages over us, including eventually in video processing. Why? Neurons fire at ~1000 times/second at most, while computer chips "fire" a million times faster than that. Current AI has not been distilled to run maximally efficiently, but will almost certainly run 100x faster than humans eventually, and 1,000,000x is conceivable given the hardware speed difference. Also, consumers probably won't have access to the very fastest implementations, so we might not always know what's going on behind the scenes. By default I think we should not expect to survive long in the presence of such bogglingly fast thinking machines. Years: maybe. Decades: probably not. "But plants are still around!", you say. "Maybe AI will keep humans around as nature reserves." It's possible, but unlikely if it's not speed-limited. Remember, ~99.9% of all species on Earth have gone extinct: When people demand "extraordinary" arguments for the "extraordinary" claim that humanity will perish when faced with intelligent systems 100 to 1,000,000 times faster than us, remember that the "ordinary" thing to happen to a species is extinction, not survival. As many now argue, "I can't predict how a world-class chess AI will checkmate you, but I can predict who will win the game." And for all the conversations the world is having about AI alignment and how AI will serve humans as peers or assistants, please try to remember this slow-motion video. To future AI systems without speed limits, we're not chimps; we're plants.

Let’s take a moment to understand the broader perspective: • Mumbai–Ahmedabad is the first High-Speed Rail (HSR) corridor, but definitely not the only one planned. • It’s one of the busiest rail and air routes in the country, with an average of 80 flights daily in both directions. • The region has a higher per capita income, making it more viable for such large-scale infrastructure. • Despite already having 2 Vande Bharat trains, 1 Shatabdi, 1 Tejas, 1 Double Decker, and several other dedicated trains, demand still exceeds capacity. Importantly, this corridor is just the beginning,the line will be extended to New Delhi, another major air corridor. Future plans also include extending the HSR to Howrah via Varanasi and Patna, connecting several key cities in Bihar. Let’s remember: when the first train ran between Mumbai CSMT and Thane on April 16, 1853, it didn’t mean that was the only railway line India would ever have. Dangote Refinery is trending because, Aliko Dangote's refinery has started selling Petrol to the public. But, NNPC will be the exclusive buyers. - Monopoly achieved ? The Vice President of Dangote Refinery hinted that should any sabotage arise, and no one buys from them, they will not hesitate to export out of Nigeria, just how they export their diesel and jet fuel. This is was yesterday, when the refinery was yet to reach an agreement with NNPCL. But, now NNPC have reached an agreement with Dangote to supply him crude in Naira. And this month the refinery will supply them 25million litres of fuel, and 30million next month. The refinery is expected to produce 650k barrels per day. But NNPC failed to provide them enough crude oil, which resulted to the delay in commencement of their operation. NNPC being exclusive buyers means that, they will reach an agreement with Dangote prompting them to only purchase PMS from Dangote for an agreed period of time. And, understanding that NNPC is in serious international debt with no international supplier willing to supply them Petrol. - One can arguably say that Dangote has gotten what he wanted, and is on course to secure Oil Monopoly. Recall that in July NNPC accused Dangote of seeking oil monopoly with poor fuel quality. Which frustrated him to to opt out of building a steel plant and suggesting that Dangote Refinery was up for sale. This morning Aliko Dangote used the opportunity to show Nigerians that the real color of quality fuel is "colorless", like water. And he assured Nigerians that, this is what they will be getting from his refinery, unlike the bad product that has been circulating the country for nearly three decades. Assuring Nigerians that their vechicles will last longer, and the environment will be safer. Dangote refinery will be the first refinery to work in Nigeria since 1996. Yet, Nigerians are saying it's not enough. That to properly combat the now natural fuel shortage, FG should allow independent suppliers to give NNPC competition.
