Pseudo membranous enterocolitis

Yes. Correct answer.

Thank u sir.

Main culprit is bacterium called Clostridioides difficile Normally, C. diff is kept completely in check by our normal gut flora But when those normal bacteria disappear after antibiotic use, C. diff overgrows rapidly &starts releasing toxins The yellow-white is pseudomembranes

You have given a clear breakdown here. Antibiotics wipe out the normal gut bacteria that usually keep C. diff in check so it overgrows and releases toxins that form those yellow-white pseudomembranes. Really helpful context on the colonoscopy findings too.

PSEUDOMEMBRANOUS ENTEROCOLITIS✅✅✅

This condition is called pseudomembranous colitis. It usually comes from a bacteria named Clostridioides difficile. Antibiotics for problems like pneumonia can wipe out the helpful bacteria in the gut. Clostridioides difficile then grows and makes toxins that damage the colon. A colonoscopy exam shows yellow white patches of dead cells and mucus on the wall. This causes severe diarrhea. The problem is more common in intensive care units than on regular hospital wards. About 2 out of every 100 ICU patients develop it. Rates on ordinary wards are often less than half that level. Patients already very sick face higher risk because they receive more antibiotics and stay longer in the hospital. Doctors treat it with special antibiotics that target only this germ. Using fewer unnecessary antibiotics helps stop new cases.
