Iran's as their last minute goal vs Egypt was overturned by VAR denying them a crucial victory that would have guaranteed an advancement out of groups. The player was in an offsides position when the ball was played by the original shooter so he cannot play the ball on the rebound. That is if there is a deflection. There is an exception: If a defending player deliberately plays or controls the ball (such as attempting a back-pass or a controlled clearance) and it falls to you, the offside is reset, and you can legally play the ball. That obviously doesn’t happen here. It’s a clear deflection and rebound in this play and isn’t the defense gaining control and sending it to the originally offsides player. It’s the right call by VAR. Same reason a penalty or free kick taker can’t hit the ball first if they hit the post.

River Ryan...Welcome Back! How about 98 on the 4 seam and 92 on the slider for the K on the first hitter on re-entry. Ryan's fastball SAT 97 & touched 98....Wow! Slider was good, and he threw it the most, and it averaged 90! Ryan had Tommy John late in the season in 2024, spent all last season rehabbing, and now here he is. He AND his brother. The Tommy John will be nothing other than a blip on his radar. He fractured his back in High School, but continued to play as a 2-way at UNC Pembroke, but was mainly a shortstop. He got drafted by the Padres, still as a 2-way, then got traded to the Dodgers for Matt Beaty, and was moved to a pitcher only once he got here. So, he's a great athlete who thinks like a "baseball player" and not just a pitcher. In fact, ask around to those in the system as to who is the best athlete in the system, at any position, and see how high up the charts he is. #dodgers #dodgersprospects

This young man on the mound, a senior in high school, started the game and threw one pitch in the game on senior day. The back story is that he was injured by a line drive in March ending his career with a brain bleed. The young man up to bat is a senior and the son of the mom who filmed this. He agreed to not swing at the pitch. They said there wasn't a dry eye in the ballpark. This game is so much greater than that little white ball! In a world of such chaos and hate, I love, love, love this so much.❤️ How can you not be romantic about baseball?

This guy went to the gym to play some basketball. He left the gym for a little bit and when he came back he noticed that his basketball that was by his bag next to the wall was gone. He asks around and no one seems to know. But, there was a camera on there so he asks the guy if he could play the camera back to see who took the ball. And lo and behold they find the guy on the camera. 😳 The guy walks over by his bag, stands there for a bit and then quickly picks the ball up and walks away towards his bag. He acts casual like he’s watching, waiting to see if anyone will say anything. Then he starts to walk to the exit door still seeing if anyone is watching him. And then he exits. A basketball.
