Patrick Surtain II asked Richard Sherman what Cornerback behavior makes his skin crawl, Sherman didn't hold back: Don’t look back for the ball! 🏈 Cornerback is a "gambling man’s sport"—playing scared or conservative gets you beat. 😮‍💨 Pat Surtain II: "What's something that corners do today that just make...

Agree 100%. Played ball in college, DII, but the concepts are the same. Get in the WR hip pocket watch his eyes and look for the ball and get your pick.

DB is easily the toughest position and anyone who thinks otherwise can argue with a wall….if you’re unsure, take a second to breakdown each position and let me know how long it took yo retarded ass to realize DB’s deal with the most

Yeah i don’t get this new age trying to play through the receivers hands. As a corner my mindset was once that ball in the air we both on offense was never as good as these guys but still

Richard Sherman points out the lack of urgency and not swarming to the ball when the 49ers were on defense yesterday: “When you look at the 49ers, it may be that they’re just running out of gas. This team has been through a lot this season. Dealt with a lot of injuries and heartache. But on 3rd & 17, with your offense needing to get the ball back, Seattle runs a play not expecting to get a first down and nobody was there to tackle him. That was the play that really frustrated me… That was a play you cannot put on tape.” via: Richard Sherman

Richard Sherman on Brock Purdy’s play against the Rams: “I thought this was a statement game for Brock Purdy because they say he can’t do it without his weapons… He threw for almost 300 yards, 3 touchdowns, no interceptions and ran the ball for 41 yards. He’s a good quarterback, he’s an elite quarterback. I would say he’s one of the top five quarterbacks in the NFL. If you give him the same criticism [as elite QBs] then please give it to Joe Burrow. Please give it to every quarterback that you think is elite and that has not played that way, because Brock’s playing that way and you don’t want to give him credit.” 🎥: Richard Sherman

Richard Sherman on the Deebo Samuel - Taybor Pepper altercation: “When Deebo Samuel goes up to him and says 'lock in', you don’t defend him [Moody] from that. You don’t get to defend him from accountability from the team. If I give up a touchdown pass and one of my teammates say 'hey come on now, lock in', somebody’s not going to come in and save me. You gotta be tough. This is the National Football League, if you make a mistake you are held accountable, just like everybody else.” via: Richard Sherman | Richard Sherman Podcast

Richard Sherman on Kyle Shanahan after the 49ers beat the Rams: “This was a Coach of the Year signature performance for Kyle Shanahan and you got to treat it that way… It gets to a point that you see how depleted this team is, but you get to understand and appreciate Kyle Shanahan’s brilliance in his play calling, his coaching, and I think sometimes you lose sight of that. And you don’t appreciate what he’s been able to do over these 9 years in San Francisco. But games like this where it looks like there’s no way in hell this team wins this game, and they do. Then you get the respect and appreciation for him and Robert Saleh.” 🎥: Richard Sherman

Richard Sherman giving rookie NCB Upton Stout some pointers: “If you’re in the slot and you’re in the red zone, and their main receiver is at 2, it’s probably a seven cut. If you have to guess something and you have no indicators, guess seven. If they do some kind of motion and bring somebody out, it’s probably a double post— like 90% of the time. I’m telling you, if you play in the league long enough, after your third or fourth year, you’re gonna be like 'bro are they ever gonna change stuff?'. Start paying attention to the indicators. Start paying attention to the patterns. Teams repeat stuff. If you got beat by something, whatever you got beat on, that long pass, the next five teams you play, you getting it.” 🎥: Richard Sherman

💬 glow up tips spiritually not just physically 🌙 I would say, don't think negative . energy is really real. what you say out loud, what you think to yourself, and what you believe in about yourself is energy that is out in the open, the universe takes that and gives it back to you. so if you're like "oh i'm ugly, i hate myself" you know, you look at yourself and you gonna all like "ah i hate the way i look i hate this i hate that" you're gonna be that you know. so don't be a lil bitch, love yourself even if you don't just fake it. and if could give you any tips i'd say spritual shower, look into that.

Fred Warner says Richard Sherman taught him to fake like he’s getting beat so the QB will throw to him because interceptions show up on the stat sheet and help secure million-dollar contracts Fred: "Take Quinyon Mitchell. He has zero picks. Then you take a guy on the Bears who had a trillion picks. Who's better? Well, Quinyon's not getting targeted because they're not even throwing his way. That's how locked down he is." "I learned this from Richard Sherman, even though you're locked down, you still gotta fake the quarterback out into thinking you're losing." "Bait them so you can get a pick." "Because when it comes to All-Pros, Pro Bowls, Hall of Fame nods, they're gonna look at your stats." Amon-Ra: "I tell all the DBs, a pick is a million dollars. You get a pick, you getting paid. If I was a DB, I'd be baiting the quarterback. I'll be getting beat. I don't care. I'm getting a pick the next drive." Fred: "You see how much money Trevon Diggs made after that year he picked the ball like 10 times? Most pick-six returns in league history. That'll do it."

Richard Sherman does a great breakdown of the 49ers and Brandon Aiyuk situation: • The issues for BA started during the Super Bowl loss against the Chiefs in 2023 • The resentment BA had from the SB loss, trade rumors & whatever else was bothering him at the time should have been flushed before signing the extension or he should have agreed to be traded during that time • Once the agreement was signed BA needed to buy back in • Sherman believes once BA is reinstated, the 49ers will likely release him at that point • Sherman doesn’t believe the 49ers did anything horribly wrong. Says the 49ers did not disrespect BA • Sherman disagrees with LeSean McCoy’s comments about players need to fight ownerships like BA did. “They paid him $30M to catch the football. If you get paid for the services, you have to provide the services. You don’t just get to get paid and say 'na I’m not gonna play wide receiver'.” • “You don’t get to get paid and say I’m not gonna rehab with the team, which is fine, you can choose to not rehab with the team, many players have done it, but if you do that, you have to show up 4 days earlier than everyone else (it’s protocol) because the team that invested $30M a year in you wants to evaluate you and see how your rehab is going. They want to do MRI’s, they want to do testing and they want to do it at a time when there’s not 90 other players there. So they can focus on you.” It’s a long clip, but I strongly recommend listening to it 🎥: Richard Sherman

Richard Sherman on Brandon Aiyuk: “Unfortunately I had a little bit more inside information so it’s not as shocking for me. It’s shocking because it’s going to play out this way because this scenario at this point in the season helps nobody. I’m not blaming BA, I’m not blaming the 49ers, but I think BA coming back and doing his best to play as well as he can helps the 49ers and it helps Brandon Aiyuk. I think the position of Brandon Aiyuk not playing anymore this season doesn’t help anybody. If BA doesn’t play this season and he gets cut at the end of the year, that does nothing to help anybody. I think if he doesn’t play, that’s the most likely scenario, but I just don’t understand why that would be the case. Why you would make the decision as a player? Everybody has their own reasons for doing things, but if you’re a player and you want out, your interests are aligned unfortunately. You doing well helps the team doing well, the team doing well and you doing well, helps everybody. It helps increase your value so that if you do want to go to another team, they’ll want to trade for you instead of you getting cut and your salary going away and then signing you to a much lower deal where you make a lot less money and it will take you a lot more time to make the same amount of money if you were able to just stay on the contract you’re on.” 🎥: Richard Sherman

Marshawn Lynch says Deion Sanders told him he’d make more money after retiring than he ever made in the NFL “I think it might have been Deion Sanders told me, ‘If you continue on the path you on, you gonna make more money after you done playing than you ever did in the league.’” “I’ve been retired since 2020, and I’m pushing closer to what I made while I was playing.” “Your mindset is the greatest thing that you have. Don’t fill that shit up.” “How I look at it is like pressure. You in control of your balloon. The more you blowing that motherfucker, the more your balloon fill. Puka Nacua says he reads the serial number on the football mid-air and turns downfield before it hits his hands but his coach hates it Puka: “My coach gets mad at me all the time ‘cause you're supposed to watch it all the way into your hands. All the footballs have numbers on them. It's like number 700 or something like that.” “So I'm reading, okay, ball 657. And right before I catch it, I'm already turning.” Logan: “Wait. Hold on. That's so…” Mike: “I've seen a couple of yours where you turned down field before you had the ball.” Puka: “If you drop one and you’re sick, ‘cause I’m like, I know Matthew hates me right now. ‘I just laid you a perfect ball and you just dropped that.’”

Gilbert Arenas on why he hated playing Dwyane Wade "I hated playing against him. After the 2004 Olympics, coming into the 2004-05 season, everybody was talking about the Heat. Shaq went over there and I said, 'We'll just treat D-Wade like they did in the Olympics, just play him off the ball.' Didn't think nothing of it." "Then I'm looking at the scoreboards and Miami is coming close. D-Wade is putting up 40, 45, 45. I called the hotel. 'Hey, is this Dwyane? Hey man, this is Gil. That stuff I said a couple weeks ago, I don't know if you saw it.' Just to let you know, you know, trying to smooth it over." "I don't know if that phone call helped because he did not look like it helped. At halftime Larry Hughes looks at me and says, 'If you're going to talk about players, you guard them. Because what he's doing out there to you, he's taking it personal.' That was the last time I ever said anything about a player."

Jesse Plemons sharing how he had to corner the Breaking Bad writers because they were terrified of him is such a wild reveal. It turns out the key to playing such a terrifying character was just pure confusion and writer avoidance. Jesse: I was cornering every writer and no one would say anything but they wouldn't look at me as if I were Todd. They were looking at me really scared and I had no idea why. Jesse: Right before we shot that scene I said, "Vince, you have to give me something. I have no idea what I'm doing or who this guy is." Jesse: He said, "You know when you're driving and a raccoon runs out in front of your car? And if you swerve to the right you run into a ditch, if you swerve to the left you hit an oncoming car. Well, what do you do?" It is incredible that he managed to nail that role with just that one analogy.

Monta Ellis says Kyrie Irving’s handles can be taught and you don’t need fancy drills to develop that feel for the ball “He definitely got an elite package of ball-handling skills, but I mean, that’s just him being familiar with the basketball.” “And I tell kids all the time, if you want to get familiar with the basketball, just walk around and dribble the basketball. That’s it. Like, you don’t have to do a lot of crazy drills and that and that.” “Like, who was before Kyrie who was dribbling the ball? You had the guys that was in AND1. So you had guys that do that. I mean, it’s just he’s very, very familiar with the ball, and he does it in tight spaces and those things at top speed… you could tell that he dribbled a lot.”

And then in real life, we kind of have a comedic vibe.” “And I remember on set he told me, 'I think we need to, you know, look for some funny in here.' And I'd be like, 'Mhm.' He'd be like, 'See! Like that! How you and I work, McConaughey, is I hit you the ball, you hit it back. I hit you the ball, you hit it back.’ “But now I'm like hitting you the ball, and you're just standing there letting it go by and hit the fence, bottom of the fence, and just staring at me. What the f*ck?”

🦊: He actually told me recently, like, 'Hey, I don't really like playing in the water, I don't like getting wet' and all that. But I told him, 'Look, if you ever do want to play, just tell me. 🦊: I’ll take you myself. But then he said he's actually scared to go with me because I’m 'too extra' (or go too hard). So I just told him, 'Hey, just go all out for once; you might just end up losing yourself in it too.' #ฟอสบุ๊ค #ForceBook
