Dick Cheney was a very compromised and corrupt politician. Yes, he went after Trump in the end, but I would not call him a patriot. He caused a lot of damage and hurt to a lot of people.

He was no patriot. He pulled George W’s strings. Weapons of mass destruction, my ass. How many people died because he wanted Halburton to steal their oil.

The best was when he made up all of those lies to invade Iraq and kill a bunch of people including American soldiers, sons and daughters and parents. Such a true American Patriot. Probably the most American thing an American can do: create fiction to invade and occupy and kill.

@olsense1 I didn’t care much for Dick for most of his life, but he certainly saw the light when it came to grifters like Trump and for that and that only, I thank him for his service to America.

I appreciate him coming forward against trump. I also know he was the loudest voice leading us into a war with a country unrelated to the terrorist attack we suffered.

No, this is not a patriot. He’s a terrible person who lied like hell after 9/11 so could get us into a war in Iraq.

Being the architect of the Patriot Act and the driving force behind the Iraq War doesn’t make you a patriot. It makes you the face of fear-driven politics that cost thousands of lives and stripped Americans of their freedoms.

While I didn’t agree with him politically, he did believe in the Constitution. I send condolences to his family who loved him.

I'm no fan of Cheney. A long list of reasons why. But I give him credit for (and respect) for standing against Trump, who he said was an existential threat to our democracy. And for standing with Liz Cheney very publicly and forcibly when most in the R party stood against her.

Anyone you know die in the fake war he started? Many many many Americans died so he could feel good. He is not a good man, no matter how much you praise him. This is so indicative of Repubs - sweep the bad stuff under the rug cuz it’s only women and young soldiers who get hurt.
