Is there any hope this will get foreign workers off the road? By foreign workers, I think we all know I mean the Indians. No other country has done what India is doing to us.

Prices are down and the big brokers are doubling down and going lower on long haul freight. My guys who do short haul are still doing well. I still have good paying freight because my customers know I have to keep trucking companies in business to keep them with consistent capacity. It is not doom and gloom unless you run the LA market. Everybody just needs to take a deep breathe and let the tariff deals play out. Trust me 2020 and 2021 were a time when we could basically charge a customer about anything if we could get it moved. It is all supply and demand and trucking companies are closing or taking trucks off the road and capacity will balance back out and there won’t be enough trucks to haul the freight and rates will go back up big time. The whole point of the tariffs is to drive up US manufacturing and when that happens the carriers that aren’t dependent on Chinese freight out of LA will make hay. I would advise to just keep a pulse on what markets are hot as we are seeing some in the Southeast heat up a little but if there is a traditional produce season freight in the Southeast will heat up. We all gonna have to go through some pain in this industry in the short term though to get this fixed but when the dust settles it will be a good thing for the Transportation industry. The bigger threat to the industry is fraud and freight theft right now.

Demand has been dropping for 18-24 months. Equipment supply is still too high. The fourth quarter election bump was the beginning of the end. Rates have dropped significantly since.

My uber driver the other week told me he is a trucker, owns his own rig and recently switched to Uber full time because it pays better than hauling. Just an anecdote but found it interesting.

Amazon Ahkmed and Vladimir the Hot Shot are the two groups this scenario applies to the most. When they leave the industry, the industry will improve.

Wow. Just think of all the ancillary businesses that rely on the trucking system that will also be impacted. This is huge!

Temporary, once people don't have thier Amazon packages coming ... the uproar starts and then the trucks get moving again and in a hurry.
