So just so we're clear, for future reference, the next time a cop says they can't get involved in civil disputes, they're lying. This is a civil matter, and here he is working for the bank.

They do this for the bank, but not for squatters in your house.

“I have done nothing wrong” I hate when people use this excuse. Lol This is what happens when you don’t pay your bill, lady.

Even better: avoid getting a car payment altogether. Follow Dave Ramsey's Baby Steps and live debt-free. Remember, cars depreciate in value and are a poor investment. Lastly, avoid owning vehicles or motorized assets that cost more than half of your annual income. @DaveRamsey

My uncle had his 6 months new Chevy Silverado towed from his driveway by repo tow truck by mistake. Called the cops and showed that he had title to the vehicle with NO loan. Tow truck driver brought the truck back but wouldn’t admit their mistake or apologize.

Thats a civil matter and nothing to do with the Police, you cant tow a car with a person inside it and theres no way the cop verified all the information. Dont get me wrong, it should be repossessed for sure but she broke no identifiable law that I am aware of.

This is going off my experience working in a title loan place years ago. Police can't get involved in a simple repo like this. We had a tow find a repo, he was hooked on in the Walmart parking lot, and the owner came out and jumped into the car. The tow driver called the cops, and they told him nothing they can do since it was a civil dispute. Officer could not order her out of the vehicle or bust it up to remove her. She's on private property committing no crime. He had no authority over her. I think she has a case against the city here. Lastly things may vary state to state but this cop messed up here. Also lastly, pay your car payment and you'll have nothing to worry about.

Sorry but repossession is 100% criminal. I get it pay your bills. Pay them. Don’t purchase things you can’t afford. But this is straight robbery. I don’t like repo drivers, they are all ghouls. They are the scum of the buckets. 🪣 and it’s the absolute most un-American job.

Times are tough in this Biden economy. But in general, one should not take a loan out on something they can’t afford. It sucks that repo’s have to happen, but it’s the only way that banks can offer competitive rates. It’s the bank’s car until you pay back the loan.
