Carl, take a look at my IRS story and let me know what you think. I am a 62 yr. old 100%(T&P) disabled combat veteran who has recently received my SSA disability. I was medically retired from active duty and live with pain everyday. Even so, I continued to work because that's what responsible adults do. I needed emergency back surgery 2 yrs ago, which took about 5 months of recovery. I then returned to work for about 5 months, but it was too much, so I got my disability. I filed my taxes this year hoping to get back a nice return because @POTUS said we would. Not so. I withdrew from an IRA last year, for which I withheld taxes, to pay off debt so my reduced monthly income would go farther. It made sense to do it. Because I did this, the 21k in disability income I received last year is now being taxed over $2,200. Why? Apparently, my wife, a retired teacher, and I together cannot receive over $35,000 in one year for any reason, or my disability checks are taxed. Again, I ask why? If I hadn't been injured and had retired normally, I could withdraw from my IRA and pay the normal tax rate without penalty. But, because I am disabled, I am penalized for doing the same thing. I went from getting back a little over $1,500 to owing almost $800. This disability check is money I paid in over the last 46 years, not free money the government is giving me. So why penalize me for using money I saved or earned.

It's bad enough that the government takes my hard-earned money and gives it to people that don't work. Now the electricity company is charging me a fee every month so people that dont work can get free electricity.

Only the middle class pays taxes. 160m americans foot the bill by paying income taxfor 350m people america.

Carl, Great show. Nothing will change until these people start going to prison. Have your people do some research please and let us know if that is happening or if it ever will. Until then we stop paying taxes or choose what our taxes pay for…

Are you aware if we charged everyone just 15% taxes we would collect exactly the same amount of taxes? This would be the biggest tax cut to the middle class. This would also remove all the rich write offs that allow them to avoid taxes.

I do believe in paying my taxes, but mailing the 3 cks yesterday I had to pause and start thinking that my business could use backup generators since Mi is going green and we are losing power a lot. But I guess the Learing Centers can use it for expanding just in case a couple of kids happen to show up

Yeah it cost me $175. To file my taxes to get $1 back that I over paid. Because the tax laws change so much year after year you’re afraid to do it yourself as I did for years. All a racket.
