What an exciting day at Wallops Island. The Antonov AN-124 came in from the south this morning, touching down at NASA Wallops Flight Facility at around 10:10 AM. No photo does that aircraft justice — it has to be seen in person to truly appreciate the scale. It taxied to the end of the runway and was unloaded incredibly fast. By the time we packed up and went to grab lunch down the road, it was already back in the air. Total ground time: roughly two and a half hours. Rocket Lab moved fast today. Right after lunch we swung by the AIC — Rocket Lab's Assembly and Integration Complex — and sure enough, they were already loading the PAF (Payload Attach Fitting / Payload Adapter) into the gray building at the Neutron complex. The other containers offloaded from the AN-124 remain a mystery — we never did see where those went. Watching to see if Rocket Lab issues any media briefings soon. Also put together a short video from about 250 still photos taken during the landing this morning — excuse a little jitter, but it captures just how quickly things moved today. On April 26th, 2026, the Japan Meteorological Agency's Himawari-8 satellite captured a full day of Earth. Every ten minutes, for twenty-four hours, it photographed a complete hemisphere of the planet. One hundred forty-four individual photographs. No editing for content. No compositing. No CGI. No green screen. No hologram. No drawings. These are photographs, assembled into video. Himawari-8 is a geostationary weather satellite operated by Japan. It orbits at roughly twenty-two thousand miles above the equator, remaining fixed over one spot on the planet, orbiting at the same rate Earth rotates. It was launched in 2014. It takes photographs of Earth in visible light and infrared. It does this every ten minutes, every single day, year after year. These images are available to the public. Meteorologists worldwide use them for weather forecasting. News organizations use them. Scientists use them. You can access them yourself right now. What you're seeing over that twenty-four hour period is the terminator line moving -- the day-night boundary shifting as the planet's rotation carries different regions into and out of sunlight, all viewed from a fixed point in space. Another Saturday without Notre Dame Football? No problem I got you covered with another legendary Tony Roberts call. This time ReggieBrooks40 with one of the greatest runs you’ll ever see. Reggie gets knocked out around the 5yd line and manages to hang on to the ball for the touchdown! What makes it even more incredible is Reggie still to this day doesn’t remember scoring the touchdown. He was literally knocked out on his feet and still had the wherewithal to hold onto the ball even moving it to the outside arm away from the defender. In a word AMAZING! ☘️

Let’s talk about the four Ages of Man: the Golden Age, the Silver Age, the Bronze Age, and the Iron Age—or the four Yugas. They are essentially the four seasons of the Great Year, which lasts approximately 26,000 years. Just as there are four seasons in our regular year around the Sun, there are four long seasons: Spring (Golden/Satya), Summer (Silver/Treta), Autumn (Bronze/Dvapara), and Winter (Iron/Kali). According to my calculations and ancient texts, we are currently in the Iron Age—or Kali Yuga—which is associated with Winter. At present, during winter in the Northern Hemisphere, there are only about 8 hours of daylight—due to the tilt of Earth’s axis pointing away from the Sun at this time of year. While the tilt angle itself remains constant, the axial precession gradually shifts the orientation of this tilt relative to Earth’s orbit. Over thousands of years, this wobble causes the seasons to align differently with Earth’s position around the Sun. So remember that time machine I told you about? I managed to sneek out another video from my visit to the future.. this time I captured video of a 3d artist creating assets for a short commercial. They sculpted the bird in the video with nothing but two controllers which they used to manipulate generative matter in 3d. The AI model changed in realtime and adopted their style of work, both based on the work they did on the scene, and on reference images they gave the system. Seeing the 3d model transform in realtime as they were working on it was incredible. When it started moving and reacted to their instructions, I knew it was time to return to the present :D #art #ai

Rabbi Yitzi Hurwitz, a Los Angeles rabbi living with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s disease), shared a beautiful message thanking people for wrapping tefillin in his honor and expressing how much it means to him. What makes it even more moving is that Rabbi Yitzi is completely paralyzed and communicates using a special eye-tracking computer. A message like this can take him 10–15 minutes to write, one letter at a time, with only his eyes. The fact that he took the time and effort to write such heartfelt words is incredibly inspiring.

004/100 Buttons. A bit of the process on building an animation. When looking at a finished animation or in this example a finished button, it can look quite complex inside the CSS. But when building it, it’s more like a lot of simple steps, one after another. Here I had the idea to make some kind of text animation like the footer logo on the Osmo site. I try to add the base animation with no complex easing, for example transition: translate 0.4s ease. Starting with just moving the one text from bottom to top and the other text to top. Adding a stagger, play around with it. Searching for a way to make it more circular. On the research I found the sin() function inside CSS which can build a more smooth non linear curve for the stagger which creates this circular effect. And step by step adding more complexity like, different easing for hover/hover-out, opacity, 3D transform and more. I use also the sin() function to rotate the letters, so the middle ones are getting more rotated than the outer ones. Another thing which helps is to add a small delay on hover, for example 0.05s or 0.1s, you don’t really see the difference, but when you hover pretty fast on and out it doesn’t get that jumpy. I’m using here GSAP’s SplitText to split every char into spans. And then I’m adding a CSS index variable to every span, starting from the center. SplitText can provide CSS index variables, but you cannot tell it from which direction. For the sin() it’s also important to have a max length, so I add another CSS variable with the max char number on it. Crafting 100 Buttons with Osmo ⏳ Total time: 63h

Karpathy's Agentic Engineering finally has proper tooling! (built by Google) Karpathy defined agentic engineering as the discipline that separates production agent work from vibe coding. The core skills he listed were spec design, eval loops, and security oversight. The problem has been that practicing this still requires a different tool for every phase: - editor for code - a terminal for scaffolding - a browser for testing - a cloud console for deployment - and a separate framework for evals. Every transition is a context switch. The solution to production-grade Agentic Engineering is now actually implemented in Google’s Agents CLI. It covers the entire workflow in one place for scaffolding, evaluating, and deploying ADK agents. One setup command injects 7 ADK-specific skills into a coding agent's context, which lets it handle scaffolding, evals, deployment, and enterprise registration through natural language. I tested this end-to-end by building a RAG agent from scratch using Claude Code. It scaffolded the full project from the ADK agentic_rag template, generated 20 eval scenarios with LLM-as-judge scoring, and returned a quantitative scorecard. Finally, it also deployed everything to Agent Runtime and registered the agent to Gemini Enterprise, so the entire org can discover and use it. The renovation of Belleair CC’s East Course involves moving some seriously mature trees. The process and planning for moving these trees is very thorough. The result- a completely renovated golf course with a seasoned feel to it. Unlike the restoration of our West course, the East is only restoring about a third of Ross’ design. Why not restore it all? It was an impossible task- back in the 1980s our current clubhouse was built over the original driving range. At that time we built a new driving range and lost two par threes and the opening holes of the East. Around that same time the club needed a irrigation pond for the 36 holes, which ate up a good portion of Ross’ East Course design on the other side of the road. The result of that redesign was a course which had 6 subpar golf holes. This renovation will create a better golf course designed to challenge all skill levels. I am very excited to have a better East Course!

It’s like you can see the gears turning. ⚙️ I just love this mother-daughter duo as they share an interactive duet. Mom has created a call and response song - simplifying “If You’re Happy and You Know It” using “mama” and “papa” as the song’s only two words. The catch? When her part comes around, our hero has to repeat the words sung most recently - turning this into an exercise in listening comprehension. The first round is easy as Mama is the only word spoken, but watch as baby listens, then takes a moment to process before correctly repeating “Papa” on the second round. Strikes on the rear of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (and again, Dnipropetrovsk) - the consequences - what the "objective control" footage shows... The enemy is much better at concealing the results of their strikes than we are, and therefore there is relatively little footage of their effectiveness. And it is precisely such footage that shows the scale of the consequences of today's strikes on Dnipropetrovsk and its surroundings. As we can see from the video, there are THREE major fire outbreaks in the city (they say the main oil depots have been hit). Not to mention smaller ones (like gas stations). By the way, about the gas stations. Judging by the fact that not only footage of burning gas stations is appearing online, but also footage of strikes on them (the latest video), we can see that this is indeed very precise work by our "heroes". Two weeks ago I fixed one of my teeth with algorithms I wrote a couple of years ago! I got hooked by 3D scanning when I started to work for a software shop in Zurich that was programming 3D computational geometry algorithms for denture scanning to produce crowns (and more). Back then, a typical reconstruction pipeline was like: scan the patient’s teeth using an intraoral scanner, reconstruct the surface mesh, design the restoration digitally, and finally mill the crown out of ceramic. We were working mostly with point clouds and meshes, but it wasn’t just math, it was craftsmanship translated into a digital process. Every micron mattered. You could literally see how a good algorithm meant a better fit in someone’s mouth. Gaussian Splatting isn’t about surface reconstruction, it’s about appearance reconstruction. It doesn’t care about explicit topology, it captures how light interacts with the scene. In a sense, it’s the opposite philosophy of the dental world: instead of modeling what the object is, it models how the object looks. 3D Gaussian Splatting enables applications like training self driving cars, teaching robots to understand their environment, creating virtual worlds, or monitoring real sites. It represents scenes as millions of small Gaussians rendered in real time without the need for meshes or textures. Coming from a world where precision geometry was everything, this shift felt natural. It’s still about reconstruction, but with a different goal: not manufacturing a perfect object, but reproducing how the world actually looks. Two weeks ago I got my first dental crown, made with the same software, reconstruction algorithms, and Swiss precision I once helped develop. I haven’t worked there in two years, but sitting in that chair and seeing the process from the other side was a proud moment. It reminded me why I love this field.
