The PBY Catalina is my favorite! I used to be a photographer at NAS Whidbey Island, Washington. Catalinas were stationed there long ago. My job was to transfer old films to videotape. Watched them in action. 👍🏻

Gorgeous aircraft. Simple as that.

Flew in a PBY Catalina from LA to Catalina island as a kid with my dad. It was one of the coolest things I remember doing. Watching the waves crash past the window and feeling that transition from boat to plane was exquisite! The landing was bumpy and fast.

That's a real float plane.

Lake 4 Buccaneer, in my early bank loan officer career in the early 70s I came across the opportunity to floor plan inventory of the manufacturer, and a good portion was shipped out of the Port of Houston to SE Asia!
