At the Munich Security Conference this week, Kaja Kallas , the EU's foreign minister, spoke direclty to Trump's ambassador to the United Nations, Mike Waltz. She said that while Russia doesn't have allies, the USA has many countries especially in Europe who will go to war for America. Waltz, a former Army Special Forces officer, surely knows how European nations contributed to the US's "war on terror." Kallas, like her father, served as Prime Minister of Estonia.

Many of today’s loudest “victims” lived their best life back then: the Baltics were a showcase of prosperity, Georgia flourished, Armenia was heavily industrialized and subsidized, and Soviet Ukraine was a major industrial and agricultural hub integrated into union-wide markets. Funny how “occupation” looks like sponsorship – until the subsidies stop and the bills come due.

So, the question is how we make sure that this war does not continue or go anywhere else. We need to see concessions on the Russian side - limitations on their military budget, their army, or nuclear weapons - to take this threat away, plus the accountability for the crimes that they have committed.
