I reinstalled it after a year of not playing just to remember why I uninstalled it... peak Genshin will never come back

I’m so glad I joined Genshin when I could…cuz I feel bad for these new players having to play catchup and all

Oh man, these moments live rent-free in my mind, seriously. Those were the best moments you could experience in Genshin Impact. Ever since 2.5/2.6 something happened, I don't know what it was for me, but it just became more different and distant for me. Back when it was Mihoyo, Genshin was at its best core ever. And we all had high hopes for the game back then, for the prevailing story, etc., only for everything to just crash out as if 2021 never happened. But new players won't know the feeling 28th September 2020 - April 2022, that those players had. Because those were peak moments. The last great Lantern Rite was 2.4, or let's say the 2nd. I did like the 4.4 one and most of the 4.x patches, but it just didn't feel like THAT Genshin. But Fontaine version definitely tried for me. After it, Natlan felt fresh but distant again, and Nod Krai for me doesn't feel fresh, and it also feels distant. The explanation is too long to be read

it's odd realizing that i started genshin as a teen and am now an adult. it's so strange feeling nostalgic for something that happened only a few years ago
