Today marks 30 years since the initial airing of Self Pollution Radio, a 4.5 hour-long broadcast hosted in a Seattle-based rehearsal space by Pearl Jam. On-air jams, live sets of unreleased music, band chat, and impromptu interviews spanned the programming alongside sounds from The Fastbacks, Mad Season, Mudhoney, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Dave Grohl, and Kris Novoselic. At the time, Self Pollution Radio was available to listen by anyone with a shortwave radio, as well as picked up by stations across the country, from New York to LA. To celebrate this milestone, tune into SiriusXM 's Pearl Jam Radio at 5pm ET for a one-time rebroadcast of the radio special:

Happy 48th birthday, Jim James! When his band, my morning jacket, was the world's most overqualified opener for Pearl Jam 20 years ago, it led to one of Eddie Vedder's greatest all-time collaborations. #tfh "A Quick One While He's Away," Sept. 19, 2006:

26 years ago today, Pearl Jam debuted- thanks to Matt Cameron- this delightful jangly cover of The La's. Playing London, the Liverpool band's song was fitting. But our favorite version came that year in Saratoga! #tfh "Timeless Melody," Aug. 27, 2000:

The 1983 documentary, “Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers: Heartbreakers Beach Party," was only shown once — and never seen again. Over four decades later, fans are finally able to get a look at a film that was almost lost forever. Director Cameron Crowe and Petty’s daughter Adria share what the release means to them.

The final scene in “Vanilla Sky” (released in Dec. 2001) was set in 2151. Cameron Crowe chose not to digitally erase the Twin Towers. He kept the images intact as a tribute. I love that. ❤️🙏🏻
