Last year I was determined to make a contribution to America's 250th Anniversary. This documentary, The Thread of Liberty: Keeping Our Republic, is what came of that desire. I've posted it here in its entirety, as well as at We have an incredible nation, the first ever rights-based government in the history of the world in which the people are sovereign. We should appreciate it and, more importantly, love it. But loving requires understanding and then restoring. There is a great deal to celebrate and there is also a great deal of work that lies before us if we're to restore the republic. One of the central questions for the future of the American Republic is do we still feel an obligation to our experiment in free government? I believe one of the places that we renew the obligation, and begin the restoration, is with a rebirth of instinctive patriotism. I sincerely hope this documentary plays a role in that rebirth. But in this particular WikiLeaks document, you see just how much of a lynchpin it is to the strategy. The State Department openly says that the Open Society Institution there is critical to U.S. statecraft, that they have all these relationships and network connections to key people in the in power political party that the State Department effectively cooed into office. And so you have this relationship where they're self confessing that what is being reported about Soros and his role in intelligence, Soros and his role in American statecraft, they're self reporting that it's true while coming up with a strategy about how to paint it as false and then while mobilizing all of our American resources and diplomatic muscle in order to quiet down the criticism and stop the circulation of critiques on Soros. Because it is an attack on the embassy itself, which is therefore an attack on all of the embassy's network assets, including in the intelligence world and in the NGO, the diplomatic and the military vectors.”

It is now the seventh day – something that has never happened before – of an emergency situation at the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant. Because of Russian shelling, the plant has been cut off from power, disconnected from the electrical grid, and is being supplied with electricity by diesel generators. This is extraordinary. The generators and the plant were not designed for this, have never operated in this mode for long, and we already have information that one generator has failed. It is Russian shelling that prevents repair of the power lines to the plant and the restoration of basic safety. This is a threat to everyone – no terrorist in the world has ever dared to do to a nuclear plant what Russia is doing. And it is right that the world does not stay silent.
