Pedro Martinez has a message for Phillies pitcher Orion Kerkering. #MLB

I feel awful for Kerkering. But the fans? Fuck em lol

It’s hilarious that all of baseball media is so concerned about this dude’s fragile emotional state like he’s a little leaguer. He’s in the majors. He air-mailed a throw to the wrong base to end his team’s season. It’s okay to criticize him, guys. His mommy won’t yell at you.

I do not feel bad for him. I feel bad for his teammates. A physical mistake, I could live with. But this was a mental mistake I wouldn't accept out of a middle schooler. You are a pitcher and there are two outs, you never go home on a comebacker. Ever. He wasn't prepared. Awful

As everyone knows, the Philly fan base is a very forgiving and very loving geoup, I'm sure they'll let this go....

Pedro’s right. Besides, if the fans want to go blame someone, how about the top three hitters in the lineup who consistently disappear every October?

It’s not all his fault the hitters should’ve never put the pitchers in that situation if they could just score some runs. 😩

Great, go play for some other team. You don't. go back to Philly with that fucktard play.

Pedro better not be the “awful announcing” example here… what he said was excellent

I find this very respectful. It’s so unfortunate the violent response Kerkering had

I see a lot of people in the comment section saying they don't feel sorry for him. Yall gotta realize its a 24yr old dude with MILLIONS of fans pissed off at him. That isn't easy to deal with. Any of you saying you don't feel sorry. Most likely wouldn't even come outside if you were face with that. So have a heart for the dude.

i feel for him because he's being blamed for everything despite there being absolutely no offense. pitching was far better than batting was

Mariano Rivera committed an error in Game 7 of the 2001 World Series that helped the Diamondbacks rally to win. Even the best of the best aren't immune from mistakes.

I was with him all the way up until about halfway, when he started talking about the organization, top to bottom, “mentoring the team”? WTFFFF 🤨🥴🤦🏽♂️

But something similar happened in game two to him.

I agree with him 100%! We need guys like Utley, Rollins, Hamels around these guys.

One thing about baseball since my son played small college is that your teammates will always have your back. They've basically made the same kind of mental mistakes some time in their life and they understand.

If only the media was so kind to Steve Bartman

Martinez is rarely in the wrong. Consider those words.

I’m sure the players will all do just fine sleeping on their beds of money. I wouldn’t worry about them.

Pitchers in the National League were fundamentally more sound without the Designated Hitter rule.

Pedro’s blaming management and I’m here for it. Three disappointing years with this talent…

Take notes @JimmyRollins11 for when you take over as our manager. Please?!?

That asshole lost two WS games for the Phillies, keep your mouth shut

Man, at first I felt bad for him but then I’m saying nope! 👎 he is in the major leagues. This is a play you are taught since Little League. That means mentally he was not focused. Go kick rocks with open toe shoes.

This is one of the best things I've heard him ever say. Eloquence and heart. Terrific.

Wow when a true killer like this is asking for tolerance you have to listen. I’m surprised he’s so forgiving. Respect.

Why, Pedro, don't you take Kerkering with you? Perhaps he would be better suited as a sports analyst.

If your a real ball player then you know we’ve all had an error that cost us the game now it’s no where near the magnitude of this they’re pros but we’ve all been there sucks

Fabulous words of REAL wisdom, provided here by Pedro Martinez (legit HoFer). Best to pay close attention.

I feel this kid needs a change of scenery. Philly fans are drunks, cruel and cry babies. He doesn't need to be booed and spit at. That's what will happen there, unfortunately.

No difference, then when Joe Carter hit the game winner off of Mitch Williams in 92

You can’t even put the loss on him. It was the 11th inning and the entire lineup produced a total of 1 run. He was just the unfortunate straw that broke the camels back

Pedro: a Mensch.

Baseball is a team sport. We have stupid manager decisions. We have umps who are compromised this is an area where AI will help, we had 8 guys who did not hit or run correctly. This game never should have gone to the 11th Inning had 1 ump call or one player got a hit.
