Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro has signed a bill that includes funding for breakfast at all Pennsylvania public schools. 1.7 million kids in Pennsylvania will now be guaranteed breakfast at school.

The bill signed by Shapiro will also include a $567 million increase in ed. funding, after the state's highest court struck down the previous funding scheme. Republicans have held up the rest of the budget after Shapiro vetoed school voucher funding.

There has been a wave of organizing across the country, and it’s led to new universal school meal laws. School meal debt should not exist, and no child should ever go hungry.

Imagine a [fkin rich] country that doesn’t just make sure kids [in school] are fed automatically. Oh wait we don’t have to 🇺🇸

It isn’t just a boon for families that struggle to make ends meet, middle class families get the same $300ish per child per year in meals provided at school for no charge. It’s just good policy.

They did the same here in FL. It's only been 2 days of school, but so-far I can tell you that my elementary school kid doesn't like the food. I think they give them that healthy stuff kids that age don't appreciate that much.
