What would Jesus do about a justice system that incarcerates more people than any other country on the face of the earth? Would he stay in his room and pray? Or would he walk into the seat of power and flip over the tables of injustice? We Christians are called to do more than charity. We are called to challenge the systems that make charity necessary.

[WATCH] With regards to the AbaThembu King we don’t support his stance on Isreal. We don’t support Israel as the ANC. What the king is doing is a betrayal of our solidarity with the Palestinian people. Doing arrogantly and blatantly like that is unbelievable, especially as somebody who comes from a struggle background. He was in exile and his father a stalwart of our liberation struggle, the fact that he can simply forget all of that and side with a state that kills people. If he went to Israel and Palestine we would understand. But to insult the cause of the Palestinians in Israel is a betrayal. #ANC114

If we actually treated all of our neighbors as bearers of the image of the divine, how would our discourse look? How would our public policies look? To me, that is the primary question that we should all be asking. This kind of politics is not what we've had, but I think people are searching for it.

And I always think the question, ‘do you believe in God?‘ is such a strange one because to me, God is the ultimate reality — the ground of our being.
