I love educating on health w the help of my medical team of doctors. As part of SO JAO campaign to create awareness on sleep crisis, I have made over 15 reels & this one addresses a very important myth. As we get older, we don’t sleep as well & then just dismiss it saying “ it happens to everyone with age, you need less sleep as you get older”. Another work week & welcome to another 70 hour workweek thx to gyan from some top business leaders !!! Yay !!! 🙄🙄 Now that we are past my trademark sarcasm, let me rationally explain why this is killing you…post work we all have responsibilities, our family, friends, housework, our fitness.. so first we do 72 hour work …then do all this??!! .. it’s not humanly possible without something collapsing/ paying the price … that something is usually our sleep .. sadly this sleep deficit too is glorified as a price worth paying for building something big in the name of nation building. I grew up thinking Islam was anti-sleep. I'd read verses about people who "abandon their beds, invoking their Lord with hope and fear" (Qur'an 32:16) and think: to be a better Muslim, I need to give up sleep.
