A lot of people see China and Russia strengthening ties and immediately think politics or military strategy. In my view, this entire game comes down to one thing, energy. China’s dependence on oil and gas routes is a major vulnerability, and the pressure being placed on Russian energy exports is reshaping global leverage in real time. That’s why I believe the Gulf states and energy security are becoming some of the most important geopolitical assets in the world right now.

A lot of people see China and Russia strengthening ties and immediately think politics or military strategy. In my view, this entire game comes down to one thing, energy. China’s dependence on oil and gas routes is a major vulnerability, and the pressure being placed on Russian energy exports is reshaping global leverage in real time. That’s why I believe the Gulf states and energy security are becoming some of the most important geopolitical assets in the world right now.

[Q]: Madam President, how soon do you think that Europe can stop buying Russian oil and gas like President Trump has asked for? [Ursula von der Leyen]: President Trump is absolutely right. We're on it. We have reduced already massively the gas supply from Russia, completely gotten out of Russian coal and massively also reduced the oil supply, but there's still some coming to the European continent. So what we do now, we put sanctions out to those ports where, for example, LNG is coming from Russia, and we want to put tariffs on oil supplies that are still coming to the European Union. So we are really getting after the last bits of oil and gas coming from Russia to the European Union, we want to get rid of it.

Wait... did Trump really say there are only 4 weeks of oil reserves left if he didn't 'open the Strait of #Hormuz'? Apparently so. It actually sounds about right and what I've been saying all along. Except...there's still nothing coming in, and this so-called 'peace' MOU won't really kick in for about 30 days. And then it takes a month or two at least for those tankers to start moving and go and distribute the oil. So... when you do the math, the world has only about four weeks of reserves left. And, once that's gone, they're going to be basically just having to run off of whatever comes in. And there's still nothing coming in from the #MiddleEast. So everything I said back in February and March about a possible Mad Max scenario is still completely and totally on the table. But they've done an incredible job of using the reserves and mind control to get people to think that everything's okay.

Circumstances compelled us to get into that market and I must say the Russians have been steady suppliers because they put the cargoes out there and you go out there and buy oil, whichever is the most reasonable and available oil. I do want people to remember this. At that time, the US specifically asked India to buy Russian oil to stabilize the world markets. Right now, if you see, after having first put tariffs on us last year for buying Russian oil, the US then again lifted its sanctions. So let's not pretend that there is some great principle involved here. I mean if it is on, off, on, off and do it when it suits us and don't do it when it doesn't suit us. Now that President Trump has declared that the US is in control of Venezuela and that the US plans on taking back the oil, it makes zero sense for there to still be sanctions on Venezuela under the Trump administration. The sanctions were imposed by the Trump administration in addition to an oil embargo and sanctions on entities involved in Venezuela's oil and gold industries, including "shadow fleet" tankers evading sanctions, because of Maduro’s behavior. Now that Maduro Nicolás Maduro has been captured, the Trump administration should immediately lift sanctions on Venezuela and restore all of the oil licenses to American energy executives and American oil companies. Why would you want to have sanctions on a country you yourself control when you could just re issue the oil licenses to Americans and retake the 1 million barrels of oil per day that are being exported to China from Venezuela? China shouldn’t be getting that oil. It should all be going to the United States. It’s time for America to neutralize Russia, Iran and China’s access to oil in the Western Hemisphere and assert energy dominance in Venezuela. Hopefully, we see the Trump administration reissue the oil licenses to American oil companies who have infrastructure in Venezuela. Maduro is out.
