I like this better than min min steve rob gnw snake aegis and kazuya. Character specific tech, microspacing, whiff punishing, 7 frame shield drop, initial dash wasn't laggy, perfect shields, and a better stage list are all perks too.

mid level sm4sh pre bayo was a great time and at the very least, moving platforms on legal stages will always be more interesting to play and spectate on over seeing small battlefield and PS2 for 95% of ultimate matches. counterpick stages are almost nonexistent in ult.

For me, I preferred Smash 4 to Ultimate because characters actually had more depth. Ultimate is a very shallow game and the only thing that really gives it depth is the sheer number matchups and counter picks due to the large roster. Peak Smash 4 is underrated.

i like sm4sh better bc it was/is less serious, especially in local scenes, which is something ult unfortunately didn’t have too much of. also extended dash dancing & perfect pivoting were incredibly fun tech to implement in neutral
