These satellite dishes are high precision instruments, with all materials taken into consideration. I wouldn't at all be surprised if there's a noticeable dip in performance painting the front like that. The artist thought about that, which is why he didn't do the front initially.

@Starlink Painting the back is probably fine, but I wouldn’t have painted the front panel if I were him. It will at the very least impact performance during rain/snow because the coating is no longer hydrophobic, and the darker paint will cause more heat inside the dish when it’s sunny.

@Starlink Paint isn't RF friendly. It refracts, acts as a dielectric, and has conductive properties that will detune it. I wouldn't paint the front.
