The creepiest thing about these people - in my opinion - is that they go through the "motions" of crying without ever shedding a tear. These people are empty shells. They don't have an authentic emotion inside them. Everything they believe has been programmed by watching their favorite actors and politicians. The NPC label is appropriate in that they behave similarly to A.I. machine learning - or reinforcement learning - where a computer learns by interacting with its surroundings and getting feedback (rewards or penalties) for its actions. These people learn the body language of someone who is "happy" or someone who is "sad" and they mimic that behavior. But the emotion (mental) that creates the body language (physical) in a normal person is missing. That's why they never shed actual tears. They have no real emotion. No actual empathy. It's all manipulation. Serial k*llers and mass-m*rderers are the same. Weird that we never really hear about serial k*llers anymore...and yet we're surrounded by a large swath of the population that exhibits similar tendencies.
