Avoiding those words will make you communicate effectively and your audience will connect with you faster. Those word are vibes killers. Don't bore your audience with that.

You are on point, Vusi. The use of those filler words is essential for speakers who are just the beginning of their speaking career or journey who need to build confidence and effectiveness from the base. As speakers grow and mature in speaking, the filler words are replaced.

I say 'you know' a lot in formal conversation and I don't like it. Yet, lord of X is chief in 'um'

This is a very common problem that has made people who actually know what they're saying to look unprofessional. Taking a moment to pause and breathe is something that should be emphasized more! Thank you Vusi! ✊

My pet peeve is "like" and "kinda" - specifically in the work place. Don't tell me you're kinda finished with the job. It is either finished or it isn't. Kinda finished means it's not done. Speak like a mature adult. Maybe I'm just old school. 😄

Mine is the word “like”. Seriously working towards getting rid of this word while speaking.

“Connect Better with Audience” No better way to couch the importance of clear communication. As an entrepreneur, clear communication is a great skill for your business pitches , brand communication, winning over and connecting better with potential clients.

This is a genius format to use to push traffic for whop affiliate on YouTube I hardly see anyone using YT in this way but it’s genius they utilise shorts and push the traffic from shorts to their YouTube long form videos It could be executed so much better too but the video format is their for you choose a human desire your page is going to fulfil >make more money >be more attractive >have more status identify the problem stopping people from achieving this desire create solution to this problem and package it in this case we’re going to affiliate for a whop product that already solves a problem Understand your customer profile (who’s suffering from this problem) you need to understand your customers better than themselves to create content that resonates they need to feel as though you have dealt with their problems and overcome it this way your value your value in your content comes across as authentic and makes the whole script writing and hook process a lot easier do this by consuming people talking about suffering with the problem >reddit >YT comments >TT comments / videos are a good place to look Branding your page / the avatar your going to use When building faceless accounts the only way you can build trust and authority is with the value you are dropping in your videos they will always trust someone who is showing their actual face more but you can use Avatars in a strategic way to convey this authority sometimes even more than someone showing their actual face There is 3 things you can include in your faceless content to do this >character branding >value >understanding their problem better than themselves your character should capture attention instantly It should correlate to the niche and problem your hitting and stand out For example if I was making a page I would do >Desire: wants to get rid of acne >Problem: doesn’t know what skin care to use >Solution: most of acne comes down to diet so here’s a food plan including lists of meals that counter acne >Character: a blue hollistic hippy looking woman with a doctors coat on with a soothing soft voice All business comes down to solving a problem to get to a desire This is a good way to build traffic and push to a whop affiliate product so you don’t need to build it out yourself

Founders oftentimes don't know how to communicate properly. They don't realize that it's a superpower they can develop. Great communication: -turns crises into trust-building moments -flips criticism to your advantage You can bend reality in your favor using Lulu Cheng Meservey's tips: >Stories are better than stats. Human stories with real people and relatable problems get better traction and recall. It's not "the tragedy that left millions without a roof," it's "the tragedy that left Mary and her three children [picture] without a roof." >Founders matter, not spokespersons. Bernie Marcus and Arthur Blank used to drive to Home Depot stores, take a group of associates to an office and talk. If they had let the message and philosophy spread by itself, it'd become amorphous. It's not "Bernie and Arthur think this," it's "we think this." >Let your inner circle tell you where you're wrong, or strangers will. Create a feedback loop before you broadcast. Your inner circle, the people who have context, care about you, and aren't afraid to challenge you, becomes your testing ground. >We're more convinced by people we like, and we like people that we trust. Identity plays a significant role in trust and how information is perceived. If you are not liked, what you say will not be taken at face value. There will be an automatic filter. The reverse is also true. >Use humor. Humor disarms. It signals confidence, intelligence, and that you don't take yourself too seriously. >Communicate for maximum impact. The main goal is not to communicate just for the sake of it, but help people understand. For your words to have impact, people need to attach their own emotions to them. You have to find the common ground where what you say collides with what they care about. This is from the amazing Shane Parrish podcast.
