@BBCSounds The misinformed creating a debate that is pointless. PIP is taken from someone who decides to have a Motability vehicle, alongside a deposit which they do not get back. They pay over £85/wk. PIP is not an out of work benefit. Goes towards the £5k+ extra cost of being disabled

@BBCSounds I see you "unbiased" BBC cunts are helping the government nudge the public into hating the disabled again so that what little we get to barely survive on will be cut with no protest. You must feel like a big man attacking the vulnerable in society.

@BBCSounds Why don't you do some real journalism and actually research how the motability scheme works instead of trying to create more hatred against disabled people!!

This is not a matter for debate. Non means tested disability benefits that can be 'traded in' for a new car - it comes out of their money, it is not 'qualified for' as if it's free. If you'd given it more than 5 seconds thought, you might realise this enables people with additional needs to live normal lives, not least of which includes working. This is horrendously ill informed, no wonder the BBC have platformed it.

@BBCSounds Motorbality cars are not given for free and only people who claim highest pip can lease them. It’s incredibly difficult to get pip at all. They are for people who need them. Why are you talking about this on your show? More divide through the UK? Sickening

@BBCSounds Stephen, to be eligible “you must get one of the qualifying mobility allowances”. That in itself is the means testing. You must have a disability or illness that makes it hard for you to get around. These are from the motability website. What’s the issue?

@BBCSounds Context - these cars aren’t free. Disabled people have to be on the highest rate of mobility component to meet the criteria. We pay extortionate upfront costs then a lease every month over £300. This is usually the only way most of us can access a lease/car that fits our needs

@BBCSounds You're very welcome to come to any of our homes and see our severely disabled adults and tell us that we are not entitled to mobility component to take our adults out, carers pay for DART transport, Taxi's as well. 😡

@BBCSounds It was very upsetting listening to your programme this morning that you picked on the most vulnerable & disabled in our society.Did you forget about the very severe & profound young adults who cannot walk/talk or do anything for themselves, their carers need vehicles or taxi's

@BBCSounds How do you means test disability? Are some conditions worth more than others. PIP is an incredibly hard benefit to get and a substantial part is paid to Motability. The cars are not free. Motability makes a huge profit from the leases.
