crazy because since 2016, we've been blessed with nothing but peak music from 3rd gen, and then suddenly, the DIY background music era took over K-pop

In my opinion 2nd gen opened the bridge for outreach outside of Korea (Japan, China, Thailand concerts) and some even made it to the west but 3rd gen made it more popular now people appreciate “old K-pop” for inspiring young artist and most fans are from 2nd gen in the replies 🤷‍♀️

Simply put: 2nd gen made a leap, but 3rd gen opened the doors to the golden age.
