I’m going to be honest. It’s been really hard on me. I’m unapologetically black in a predominantly white space and I face battles that no one else has to deal with. Culturally I’m different from literally every other person in this space so I feel completely misunderstood at times. People create fake accounts to harass me, I’ve been called the N word more times than I ever have in my life, people who I don’t even know go on podcasts and make up lies about me being a “runner”. Some people even found my mom’s number on the internet and called her house trying to get to me. Even when I’m winning it feels like every single bet or analysis is life or death. I don’t feel like I’m given the grace that other people may get who look different from me. I love what I do but I don’t deserve to be treated the way I’m treated by people especially for how much I’ve given to this space. I also don’t take kindly to being constantly called a DEI hire with all the things I’ve accomplished either. I probably don’t handle it the best. Ivy League degree aside, deep down I’m still a black kid from South West Philly and when I feel attacked, I revert back to the version of me that had to survive growing up. I try not to engage as much and ignore the noise but I’m not perfect. I’m still growing and still trying to become the best version of myself.

Part 2 Basically I unfollowed 200+ people. Just know that if I did it’s not personal and I still remember all the love you’ve shown me and it’s still appreciated! Reason 1, straight up spiralling and I’ll need some time to realize I was just being stupid and crashing out for literally no reason. I apologize in advance. Reason 2 is that I don’t wanna deal with the NSFW content and nudity anymore. I’ll wake up, go pray, open Twitter and see things I shouldn’t be seeing unless I’m actually looking for it. I’m being desensitized to content that goes against my morals just because I love having nice people around me. There should be no reason I’m ever seeing my friends touch themselves. I’ve been injured since 2017, almost nine long years. Practically all of that time I spent wallowing in self-pity. “Woe to be me,” and all that. I let the pain I was in dictate every single decision I made. I was angry, and I fought with my friends for any and every reason. I’m honestly shocked that they tried as hard as they did to help me. I definitely didn’t deserve it. In the end I lost them, but I still love them and I’ll keep reaching out. The four months after my injury was the angriest I’ve ever been in my life. I would get drunk and stoned, and say the most awful, mean shit to the people that loved me and were just trying to help. The first 3 to 4 years of my injury was the worst. I would get blasted and then I would obstinately resist everyone’s help, just to be a cunt. I wanted people to feel what I felt, even if just for a few minutes. Those minutes turned into a near decade. I’m done feeling sorry for myself. Done. I’m taking back agency of my life. I’m handling every interaction with my insurance company. I’m in coordination with every doctor. I’m cutting back on medication. I’m going back to physical therapy. I’m getting back in shape. I’m eating healthy. And I will be wealthy very soon. There’s no doubt in my mind. At the very least, I’m starting to laugh again. I’m starting to appreciate everyone and everything in my life. And now I don’t simply believe God saved my life that fateful day, I know it. 1 Peter 5:10 (ESV): “And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you.” Remember who you are and don’t forget to have a little fun. God bless you and God bless the USA 😋

NEW YEAR, NEW BEGINNINGS 🤰🏻 2024 has been a year of challenges, growth, and preparation. It reshaped me, taught me how to set boundaries, and helped me recognize what I allow into my life. But now, I’m stepping into 2025 with so much excitement for this new chapter becoming a mother. This has been a dream of mine for as long as I can remember, and now, I’m living in the beauty of this incredible gift. There’s a promise with my name on it, and I’m embracing it with open arms. This year has taught me that growth doesn’t happen in isolation. What I’ve experienced weren’t just lessons they were breakthroughs. Seeking guidance, advice, and mentorship from those ahead of me has been invaluable. Surrounding myself with people who inspire and uplift me has been a key part of my journey. I’ve kept this part of my life a secret for so long, but now, I’m finally ready to share it with the world. To my family and friends thank you for being trustworthy, supportive, and loving throughout this time. I love y’all so much and I’m so grateful. To my baby, you’ve given Mommy so much peace.
