People still arguing if Hollywood being cooked? LMFAO
53 条评论

To be fair... 5 second clips of obvious slop, strung together into an incoherent 30 seconds of video... isn't a valid argument.

An AI-generated montage of unrelated shots? Now I’ve seen everything.

In your infinite wisdom, you believe work devoid of acting, direction, design, plot, creativity, Art direction, and originality is what makes something good. So far all everyone is using AI to recreate and reimagine existing content. How is it redefining the art of storytelling?

Nico explaining how this was done, good BTS

Ah yes short 3 second clips are going to cook Hollywood movies.

clips in movies and shows are usually quite short.

Hollywood is totally ok. It depends on cinematic storytelling. And most people are so lazy that even in AI community people are doing remake, reimagine and other boring kind of stuff. Hollywood can start making AI movies any day.

Need to keep prompting a bit lol

You see, nobody cares, this is the thing here, movie making has become a craft for the "in-club", where vfx artists makes up 90% of the credits, and 40 people specialise in matte painting. NOBODY cares.

I think you will find many people care. Every shot being “a little bit terrible” makes for a painful viewing experience. If you can’t fix those mistakes before you final it then that’s a big fail. Each shot is “eh, you get the idea”

Again, industry people talking about industry peoples reactions or expectations about what a regular consumer wants to watch or not. If people don't care so much, how come billions of people want to consume shows on their phones, in portrait mode, in episodic format thats like 3 minutes long? How come streaming services has to re-consider how script writing works, and put the third act first, to make sure people don't tune out or turn off? The way we watched movies 30 years ago has changed, just as the way people consumed photography 50 years ago are different than today. The industry has not kept up, is playing catchup, and people who thought they could work a whole life with a job doing one thing, is waking up to the brutal reality that it won't be like that. Their jobs might not even exist a few years from now. The brutal and honest reality is, adapt or lose.

Good sales pitch but this demo still ain’t it. And as far as “the industry not keeping up”… We’re using AI already where practical. Mediocre AI will get eyes on TikTok, you’re right there. But no one is going to pay for a movie ticket if it looks like what you posted.

I think you are correct. But if this quality of visual is just text prompting and you can take it into an editing program and let the clean up artists make it look professional well then it will eventually get to that point. and Hollywood will change, maybe adapt. I doubt its fully cooked.

@LinusEkenstam Therein lies the rub - Pro's still needed to take it over the finish line. To get these to 'hollywood level' would be a job for a very senior artist. In the breakdown I see they are using ref images so they are trying harder than simple text prompts.

This looks awful tbh

You're the perfect example of why Hollywood is cooked. We don't care about graphics... it's the script that matters. Anyone can create beautiful visuals these days, it doesn't mean anything...

Okey, why does one episode of the new star trek cost like $8 million then?

Nobody likes Star Trek anymore. I'm a big Star Trek fan, I saw many times TNG, DS9, Voyager, Enterprise... and I hate all the new shows (Discovery, Picard, etc...). The only ones who like the new shows are those who haven't seen the old ones. I preferred it when each season had 24 episodes (not 10), when the plot was well-crafted, and not woke. Check out the reviews on YouTube, you'll see... The fan base hates it, and most of these shows are losing money, look it up. When you watch a movie for its special effects, you forget it as soon as you leave the theater. But when you watch a movie with a good thought-provoking script, even a week later, you're still thinking about it. That's the difference. Today, with AI, anyone can create beautiful visuals in seconds with just two lines of text. It's completely worthless...

Nostalgia never wins I'm afraid. I don't care about the fan base, you said something, and I countered with a simple observation why is Star Trek so expensive? I don't care about your personal affects or not for Star Trek, or if you think its woke or not. Irrelevant. I wonder why it cost $6M to make an episode of what you consider Junk. So you hate AI slop, and you hate human made expensive stuff, but you like a well crafted story? So AI is not the problem then, humans also create shit in your opinion. Seems to me you are just grumpy and longing for a world that has been and won't be again.

6 or 8M$ ? Whatever... It costs them so much money because Disney executives (Kathleen Kennedy, etc.) think exactly like you. They think that all it takes is stunning visuals, to hide the fact that they've destroyed the lore and introduced their political agenda. But it's not working anymore; the audience is plummeting. The Total Recall remake was better looking than the original, it cost 2 or 3 times more, and yet it was much less successful than the original... Why? Because they removed the most interesting part of the story. It's like asking me why Bud Light or Jaguar used trans people to sell their products... stupid mistakes happen. All I know is that they're on the verge of bankruptcy right now because of it. And before you tell me it's unrelated, you're wrong; the two are connected. Because your beautiful visuals are only there to mask all this crap... and we're fed up with it.

They faced issues due to a cyber attack having to shut down global production, jaguar is also land rover. You have no clue what you are talking about. Go back to your cave

LoL 😂 Who lives in a cave ?

I guess you see what you see.

I still want to see humans acting, that's what makes movies interesting. AI slop is not a threat to genuine movie production, with real people.

AI is a fantastic addition to filmmakers' toolset, if used appropriately. It is NOT, yet, a replacement for good writing, acting, directing, design, cinematography, or editing.

Nonstop “epic” teaser slop isn’t compelling to paying audiences

show a szene that is longer than 5 seconds. Hollywood will use this technology for certain things, but you and I on the couch at home, will not compete with them

This is all trash. There is yet to be a single good piece of AI filmmaking. Nothing even remotely close to good. Having a new tool to make much cheaper special effects does not advance you 1 mm towards making work that touches the heart, or moves the soul, or elevates the mind, or affirms one's existence. No aspect of this stuff is art. It's just hollow effects. If you are a special effects master, that leaves 99.99% of filmmaking that you are still not good at. Understanding narrative. Having an encyclopedically learned knowledge of the history of cinema so that you can figure out how to make a novel contribution. Understanding shots, cuts, construction, tension, suspense, emotional amplitude, onscreen presence, immediacy, subtlety, bravado, quietude, poetics, dissonance, harmony. Profoundly understanding and being able to articulate things that make people ache and hope. Having cheap special effects gives you zero help with any of the above. It leaves you an FX master and a filmmaking ignoramus. This AI stuff is just cotton candy. If I asked you about this footage in a week, you wouldn't be able to recall anything specific about it. But I can walk you scene by scene through films made by Jean Renoir or Yasujiro Ozu or Jean-Luc Godard from the 1930s, 40s, and 50s. These clips are cotton candy for retards.

Okay and now generate something visionary, original. It’s a nice showcase of everything that was already done - AI can speed up many aspects but it will not cook the industry as a whole. Also it looks artificial - especially with the car physics. Not in an enjoyable way

You can create anything, originals are all over, just check out the work from @Kavanthekid as a top of mind creator that does extremely cool work or why not @Diesol I think you are just not connected to the zeitgeist, don't blame you its hard to keep up

This is for the best. Studios always get in the way and hinder the story and project. The best movies in the future will be of die hard fans in small teams creating their visions. It won't just be GEN AI as well - it will integrate and elevate all tech and software.

evergreen like clockwork

AI been out for 5yrs now and the best ppl can do is these trailers... I wouldn't pay for this no matter how flashy u make it... make it interactive...make it good.. 3outta10.. yall still got decades to go

You clearly do not know that 99% of creative studios produce sizzle reels to showcase work, this is essentially a sizzle reel.

5yrs of sizzle reels and nothing to show?? Proof of conceptual failure as is.... 10yrs to go

It'll help with adding B-roll, sure - but filmmaking isn't all about cinematography and tech. It's about storytelling, at which AI is still way, way, WAY behind the human mind.

You would not use the AI for storytelling, why would you? its about enhancing the human output. What used to cost millions of dollars can be done by a single individual in less than 3 days for maybe $5000 and still have an production value of $50.000.000 easily. No joke.

Until you hear someone talk

Amazing for sfx - long way to go for emotive, nuanced acting

Stop making teasers. Start making movies. Tell stories. Until there are stories to tell, all these beautiful pictures and attacks on Hollywood are complete bullshit.

Video generation is good, but it doesn't have the life experience that a human does, so it can't show that emotion on screen.

Define being cooked? Runway is already working with Hollywood.

Nice plot.

a movie made like this would be completely unwatchable AI will replace film production in low-budget formats (ads, social media shorts) and will be a major utility in the making of trailers and pilots features may finally return to baseline tho

Grabbing popcorn for this one🍿

high def 4k slop

I feel bad for the editors of the world who have not adopted an advanced AI skillset

No, I'm sure you're right. Hollywood after all just makes those sizzle reels HBO shows before a new series and that the networks show at the upfronts. there's no performances or plots or dialogue in Hollywood movies. Also, let's try doing something that isn't just clearly copying something else.

Still concept trailers, not movie or tv trailers. This is the same trend/stunt people pulled when the “meta verse” was supposed to be a thing.

insane

hollywood like old growth: either adapts or composts void suggests: perhaps both?

Show something worth watching. Not clipslop.

have any of yall ever seen a fucking film ever? why is it everytime "hollywood gets cooked" its a sloppy montage of a bunch of stupid unrelated 2 second clips?
