Just want to say, some parts of Northern Ireland are still like this. I cut the grass for my elderly neighbours, we had a wee street party for the coronation and we have parades. The Ulsterification of the UK should be of the highest priority. Loving your country starts with loving your street.

I’m an American but went on a couple of trips to the UK in the early 2000’s. We loved it, so much so we considered emigrating. The sense of community was overwhelming and it created an intense internal desire to be part of it. Life happened and we haven’t been back, something I regret to this day. My heart breaks to see how much the UK has been destroyed. Praying you get to restore your country and culture.

The singing Osmond family used to have TV shows that looked like this, the whole big family at a really long table, enjoying holiday dinners, lots of happy kids. We don't see that much anymore due to White erasure.

Yes. People in my part of London gathered like that for royal events and national anniversaries as recently as the 1990s. They're all gone now. Replaced by people from other countries. They don't celebrate.

My gran experienced this and she's still here. The decline happened in a lifetime.

Basil, the great, How can we bring these incredible times back into reality with or without AI? Often I feel this broad spectrum of disconnect, not just in America .. but how saddened I’ve become, seeing nations separating with anger and fear. Evil has become just another word for defending one nation over another and self-righteous leaders making the very decisions that destroy them. My heart searches for the goodness in people, and in doing so I have great faith in humanity. But something has changed… reaching out to others has often been an unspoken privilege. We cannot allow ourselves to be at the mercy of those who are indifferent to our gestures of kindness. Identity is a personal and global crisis the space for giving has become crowded I hope as much as you do that we can open the space again.

This was my childhood from the late 50s. Neighbours were like family, doors unlocked all day till late evening. Families rallied round if there was a death,or someone in hospital. We had coach trips out to the seaside or large parks. Every big occasion there was steet parties.💔

Definitely no crime or people doing awful things to each other at this point in British history.

@festa197 There was a real sense of community cohesion back then. Now everybody locks themselves behind closed doors. Most people don't know their neighbours, and probably couldn't pronounce their names. The streets are full of drug dealers and pube-faced muslims leering at schoolgirls.
