Sure but the local could have explained why that wasn’t a good beach to swim at, just say there’s riptides or sharks or something. Guy just said don’t swim here and left lol

I mean, sure that dad was a bit of a jerkoff, but he could have just explained why it was unsafe and that people have died there before instead of just trying to aura farm and walk away.

As a former grief counselor in Hawaii, I can say that no visitor pays attention to weather and/or surf reports. They see locals, who have known the ocean their whole lives, manage the currents and waves; visitors see them and think it’s “safe” to swim. It’s heartbreaking.

I live on the beach. Our beach is beautiful, but extremely unsafe. There are signs everywhere, warning people not to swim, yet every summer, people drown here, most are tourists. Today was the first day of our summer holiday season and already people are ignoring the warnings….
