Stenson’s ex-boyfriend, Cortez White, show up unexpectedly at the passenger door and opened it. Stenson looked confused because White had no reason to be in Peoria as he lived in St. Louis at the time, but Stenson posted on Facebook about her flight, and her cousin believed that was how White knew where she would be. Stenson left with White, but she told her cousin to follow them. She began texting family members that White was going to kill her and he refused to let her out of the pickup. Stenson’s family members then called 911 at around 6:45 p.m. to report that White was going to kill her, providing a description of both to police along with the pickup that he was driving. Stenson continued to text her location to her family as he drove throughout Peoria, eventually texting that they were at the Four Points by Sheraton downtown. An officer responded to that location, seeing them outside on the sidewalk. Hoos said that the officer asked them, “Are you Ashley? Are you Cortez? Keep your hands up,” as he got out of his squad car. Hoos said White immediately pulled out a gun and shot Stenson in the head right in front of the officer, continuing to shoot her while she was on the ground. Hoos then said he pointed the gun at the officer. The officer fired several shots at White. White tried to flee but the officer pursued, continuing to shoot at White before he eventually fell to the ground after being shot and was taken into custody. According to Hoos, an autopsy on Stenson showed White had shot her five times - twice to the head and once to the chest. White was shot multiple times. Hoos said it was abundantly clear that the officer was legally justified in using deadly force against White - the officer witnessing an execution-style murder right in front of him and White then pointing the gun directly at him. Either one of those two events would justify the use of deadly force. Officer holds man at gunpoint that does not fit description of the person he is looking for. Officer Kerzaya was called out to this hotel as a white man pulled a gun on the hotel staff. As the officer was searching the premises he ran into Trey an employee of the hotel and also African American. The officer proceeded to pull his firearm on and hold Trey at gun point for a number of minutes. The whole time Trey had his hands up and was eventually on his knees. Once verified Trey was an employee all he said to him was get out of here. Next this officer pulled his gun on another person in the hotel that also did not fit the description. The officer resigned from duty as his certification was stripped from him. Trey filed suit against the city and pulled in a settlement.

Off-duty ICE officer in California defended himself and k*lled a man who fired a gun into the air on New Year’s Eve and threatened him. The suspect had allegedly fired multiple times into the air with a long rifle, alarming neighbors. The ICE officer confronted him, after which the suspect aimed the rifle at the officer and refused to drop it. The officer fired, and the suspect fired back multiple times. The officer returned to his apartment to don body armor and called police. When LAPD arrived, they found the suspect deceased. The ICE officer was not injured or arrested. The incident is still being investigated. The suspect should have complied, and the officer had every right to self-defense. (NBCLA on YT)

INTENSE 😳 While being transported for drug possession and driving on a suspended license, Rheanna Harden managed to retrieve a gun in her pants and open fire on the arresting officer from the backseat. The officer lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a utility pole. The officer, who was grazed in the right eye, exited the cruiser and returned fire. Both the officer and Harden were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Harden was charged with attempted second-degree murder of a law enforcement officer, among other charges.

According to Fairfield police, a school resource officer responded to a "physical altercation involving multiple students on campus" just after 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Police say a high school student was fighting a school official who was trying to break up the fight. According to Fairfield police, the officer then saw another student trying to retrieve an item from a backpack during the fight - which the officer believed was a weapon. The officer then confiscated two backpacks. Police say the officer then escorted one of the students involved in the fight to a campus office. They say a large group followed the pair, including other students "who were actively trying to fight the student the officer had detained." After the student had been taken to the office, police say the officer tried to approach a second student who was trying to fight. The student refused to listen, according to police, and went back to a large group, where more students were fighting. The officer then tried to detain the second student, police said, but they tried to pull away. At this point, other police officers had arrived at the school to help with the response. Police say the student then hit the officer, which prompted the officer to perform what they called a "takedown technique" and place the student on the ground. As the officer tried to place the student in handcuffs, the student resisted, police said. In the press release shared Thursday, police detailed what happened before the officer placed the student in handcuffs. "The second student placed his hands over his head and covered his face. An officer grabbed his wrist and tried to place his hand behind his back. The second student tensed his arms, and the officer was unable to overcome his resistance," Fairfield police said. "At the end of lunch today at Fairfield High, there was a fight amongst multiple students.A Fairfield Police officer was working at the school, and called for additional officers to respond. "The officer administered a distraction strike to the second student's hands. The officer tried again to pull his arm behind his back but was still not able to overcome his resistance." After additional "distraction strikes," police arrested the student. As police worked to arrest the second student, they say the first student, who had initially been taken to the office, ran out of the school office to where the officer and the other student were. The first student was later arrested. Police said they found sharp objects, including a screwdriver, in the two backpacks they confiscated. In a letter sent to the campus community, Fairfield High School officials acknowledged what occurred on the campus on Wednesday. "At the end of lunch today at Fairfield High, there was a fight amongst multiple students.A Fairfield Police officer was working at the school, and called for additional officers to respond. We are also aware there are videos circulating on social media of the incident," the school said in a statement. The police have not publicly identified the officer involved. They said she is not on leave and that they are investigating the incident.
