A hard rescue today as I got a message from a kind local lady who needed help with an old blind dog. The poor boy was most likely dumped in the area because the “end was close for him”. He was confused on the beach and stuck. He wouldn’t have lasted much longer were it not for their bravery. His vet results were about as bad as it gets. His eyes might be glaucoma as he can’t see a thing and his kidneys and liver are bad as well as severe anemia. His anemia is so bad we can’t even put him on a drip. While I was driving him around I just had to keep talking to him as his head would keep dropping. His body is so weak. He is also very hard to handle as he lashes out with bites as he can’t see what is going on around him. He is terrified. The ladies called him Rocky as they are hoping he will make a comeback. It won’t be easy at all but he did start eating, drinking and resting well this evening. We will all have to keep everything crossed for this lovely boy. Whatever happens he isn’t on his own and he has the best medical care now. Rocky even let me pet his head tonight. I think he understands he is safe.

Thank you, Will Cain, for being unequivocal in talking about the shooter as having been transgender and their vile views: “Based on court documents, the shooter was transgender and ‘identifies as a female and wanted her name to reflect that identification.’ It was his mother who signed off on that court document for a change and name...He was almost apologetic to his family, but hateful to the world..He displayed a shotgun, an automatic rifle, several pistols, along with loads of ammunition and magazines, clips, also side arm holders. And he wrote on all of them with what appears to be a white sharpie or white marker, he wrote things like ‘kill Donald Trump.’ He wrote ‘for the children,’ ‘killer sadist,’ ‘sponsored by BlackRock.’ He also had a smoke canister, Buck, where he wrote ‘Jew gas.’ He also wrote, on a separate material, wrote ‘6 million is not enough.’ Hateful messages. It seems to me that the GOP’s only attack left on Hunter Biden is that he wasn’t qualified to be on the Board for Burisma. This simply is not true if you know how boards of directors work. His role was to help Burisma with corporate governance and transparency, as well as advise them on international expansion. He was very qualified in these areas given his previous experience. - Hunter Biden holds a law degree from Yale Law School. - He was employed by the prominent NY-based law firm Boies Schiller Flexner LLP as an attorney. During this time, he was involved quite significantly with aspects of corporate law, and governance. - He was appointed by Republican President George W. Bush to serve on the Board of Directors for Amtrak. Amtrak is the primary provider of intercity rail services in the US. Governance and transparency is crucial for Amtrak due to their public nature and federal funding. - He worked at MBNA, a major bank and credit card company as a consultant and lobbyist and also had them as a client. Obviously corporate governance and transparency is key for any bank. - He served on the board of directors for the World Food Program USA. - He cofounded a private equity firm. - He co-founded a lobbying firm. - He has worked as a consultant for other companies. If you don’t think he was qualified, then you don’t understand how boards of directors work. Let’s take a look at the Board of Directors for Fox Corporation. Both Paul Ryan and Anne Dias are on their board. Dias is a hedge fund CEO, with little to no experience in media, entertainment or broadcasting. Paul Ryan is a former politician. Boards of Directors are supposed to be made up of people of different backgrounds, not just experts on what that corporation does. Hunter Biden shouldn’t have taken the job because of the appearance of a conflict of interest, but to say he wasn’t qualified, is just wrong.

Congrats to Ryan Ward for having his contract selected and being placed on the Dodgers' 40 Man Roster. Wardo was awarded as the Most Valuable Player in the PCL this past season after hitting .290, with an OPS of .937. He posted a WRC+ of 132, and his 36 home runs led ALL of the Minor Leagues During this season he also became the ALL-TIME home runs leader (90) and RBIs (318) in the history of the Bricktown Ballpark Era for OKC baseball. On a personal note, I've been going to AAA OKC games since 1975. That dates back to All-Sports stadium, and 6 different affiliation changes, 5 of which have been in my lifetime, and that I remember VERY well. So, to see this with my own eyes was truly historical on a personal level for me as well. #89ERS And, to have it happen in the first year of the new branding was a real "page turner" of OKC baseball, so that's SUPER cool too. Ward also drove in 122 runs, which is the most of ANY player in the PCL since 2010, and racked up the most total bases (315) of any player in the PCL since 2001. Ward also set single-season records for the Bricktown era in hits (164), runs (113), and RBIs (122). As per his defense... His outfield play has gotten better and better as each year has passed, and, while his bat will likely always be the"show stealer", he is a good athlete and has become a very solid outfielder. He can also play 1st base, and dabbled in a touch of 2nd base while at Bryant Baseball Speaking of Bryant, he's the only Bulldog ever to hit over .400 for a single season, and he struck out just 1 time his senior Season at Millbury, so the "hit tool" is NOT a new thing for him. As an aside, he graduated with fewer than 100 kids in his High School, and he is not shy to show pride in his "small town" work ethic. With all the home runs over the fence, his highlight of last year was an at-bat where he kept the ball IN the park. Wardo knocked an INSIDE-the-park WALKOFF home run back at the beginning of May. Congrats, Wardo, I could type ALL DAY about this dude, but that will do it for NOW. #dodgers
