The provincial Govts should replicate PERA Punjab across Pakistan. I know this firsthand from a frustrating experience my wife and I had a few years ago. We went to the PSO station in G-9/4, Islamabad. I asked the attendant for 20 liters of petrol, but while the pump was running, my wife and I got caught up in a conversation and didn't watch the meter. I paid the bill, took the receipt, and drove off toward G-9 Markaz. A couple of minutes later, I glanced at the dashboard, the fuel needle was sitting right at the bottom. I sensed, something went wrong, we immediately turned around and went back to the station. When I showed the cashier the receipt, he casually dismissed it, claiming their refuel machines couldn't malfunction. Not convinced, I requested that they inspect the fuel tank directly. Sure enough, when we opened it up, there were barely two to three liters sitting on reserve. Realizing what had happened, the pump owner stepped in, apologized, and tried to terminate the dishonest attendants on the spot. Even though I was angry, I asked the owner to suspend them for a week instead of firing them, hoping a stern lesson would serve them better than losing their livelihood. We all need to stay vigilant and speak up against dishonesty whenever we see it. @CMComplaintCell @PSOPakistan
