Always use a blade edger. Using a string trimmer to edge will ruin the edge and give you a large gap between the concrete and turf within a few weeks. You know what fills that gap? Weeds. Plus it looks like crap.

Until he starts chopping the grass with the line. The grass should be cut with a sharp lawnmower blade. The line just breaks the grass off, rather than cutting it clean.

Sloppy and lazy. Way too much grass removed in one cut.

It’s definitely a trim. But definitely not perfect.

Typically wanna do the edge trim last cause when you surface mow there’s gonna be some blades that overhang in the line again. Nice job tho 👍🏼

Done the wrong way round though. You do horizontal trimming first and then edges after as the horizontal trimming will push the grass back over the edges and ruin the perfect edges.

Preferably use an edger for the hardscapes. The deeper and wider edges look so much better. Line trimmer edging is for flowerbeds and defining anything on the turf.
