Perfection.

Luther Vandross struggled for years as a session vocalist before Epic Records gave him a shot at recording his own album. 🤔 Fun Fact: He turned down a "dirty" studio record deal at Cotillion because he wanted a sound of "pop perfection" and total control over how his songs were presented to the world—unheard of for a new R&B artist at the time! Did you know? 🤯

Saw him twice in concert in the UK. Brought me to tears when he sang ‘A House Is Not A Home’.

Velvet Voice Vandross 🎤

That groove tho 🤤

I worked with Luther on an album in Montserrat- what a great musician and person. Terrific band also, including Marcus Miller, who witnessed me sampling something for the first time for him…years later I was buying MM sampling DVDs!!📀
