Rest in peace, Sir Garry. There will never, ever be another like you. It is with a incredibly heavy heart that I hear the news of the passing of the greatest of them all, Sir Garfield Sobers. For anyone who loves this beautiful game, Sir Garry wasn’t just a cricketer; he was the ultimate standard of what a cricketer could be. When we talk about all-rounders today, we often look at players who can balance two disciplines. But Sir Garry? He was a master of five. He could bat like a dream, bowl fast-medium with the new ball, switch seamlessly to orthodox left-arm spin, bowl wrist spin, and field like a panther at short leg or in the slips. To watch him walk onto a cricket field, with that loose, rhythmic Caribbean stride, collars turned up, was to watch absolute majesty in motion. He played the game with a sublime joy and a fierce, competitive dignity that defined an entire era. I remember the sheer awe he inspired whenever India played the West Indies. You couldn't take your eyes off him. Even when he was taking the game away from you, you couldn't help but marvel at the genius of the man. His 365 not out stood as a mountain for decades, and those six sixes in an over became the stuff of folklore. We said goodbye to our beloved Odom last night as it was his time to go. To say I am devastated would be an understatement because that dog has saved my life more times than I could even begin to fathom. To be with him at the end of his amazing life was an honor I do not take for granted. Most of my days and routines over the last few years were centered around him and ensuring that he received what he needed. Whether it was receiving insulin for his diabetes at the same times every day or planning walks and meals to accommodate what worked best for him, my schedule revolved around what he needed. To some, this might seem like a nuisance. For me, it made me better. I made his routines my routines. Walking him twice a day gave me time to reflect and appreciate all of the good in my life. Planning time for his exercise ensured I did the same for myself. Being immediately anchored by his weight on a walk because he wanted to appreciate something he had noticed taught me to slow down and take in moments in a way I wasn’t used to. His routine was my routine, and it made me better. When I first saw him at the Edmonton Humane Society Society, I wasn’t ready for a dog. My brother Alec was there, and he saw me with Odom, and he knew that I was in love immediately. I didn’t find Odom, but Odom found me. I left, not taking him home and immediately knew it was a mistake, and that he was meant to be in my life. I went to the Edmonton Humane Society the next day, 30 minutes before it opened, to ensure that I would be the first person to go through the doors. I headed straight for where Odom was, and he came home with me that day. With all of the ups and downs I have had in my life since, my love and pride in that dog were a constant. I am terribly sad, and I am taking solace in this quote from Andrew Garfield on grief: “This is all the unexpressed love, the grief that will remain with us until we pass because we never get enough time with each other, no matter if someone lives till 60, 15, or 99.” I love that dog because that dog loved me. Bye Odom…You will always be my best friend.

STOP poisoning your babies!! "Day 13 after the 💉 7:39 am before daycare 5:10 pm intubated because he can’t breathe. Life flight coming to get him. Life flight leaving with him Him TERRIFIED not knowing what is happening. Chronic ear infections needing antibiotics that wreck their gut? Sick shortly after receiving 💉? “When I got to him that day he started to turn blue. I picked him up and held him out in front of me to open up his airway. He was still moving all extremities at that point. Minutes, maybe even seconds who knows, later his arms went limp and fell back behind him. The rest of his body then quit moving in my arms as well. 9-1-1 rushed us to the ER. All tests, blood work, scans, x-rays were normal. They intubated him because he was struggling to breathe on his own. Life flight came and reintubated him because he was uncomfortable. We got to Childrens at the same time they did. They admitted him and immediately took him for his MRI. Dr. Cullimore knew what was happening before we even got there. They had just had 2 children with the SAME thing leave in the last two weeks with it, they came from the same ER as each other. One left a day before we got there…but it’s “rare” right? They asked all sorts of questions. So many tried to blame his daycare provider. I knew that would never be the case. After his MRI she sat us down and specifically said “this can be caused by a vaccine or a virus”. My heart sank. I knew what happened to him. Still mad I didn’t get that on video. If you can plan a nursery, you can take the time to read an insert for your childs safety and wellbeing. My baby was not sick.”

We have also hammered the idea of the Lakers being a horrendous transition defense this season, and we know Ja Morant is at his most fun when he gets out in transition. Expect some easy assists on those plays here. Now as far as the Lakers, they don't hide their strategy of "you are either shooting or passing but you are not driving." While that last matchup was the one that started the drama with his comments about the coaches chewing him out mid-game, it did look like he was figuring out how to read it in the 2nd half. The Grizzlies would put Ja Morant on the wing in an ISO position, with everyone cleared out to the other side. The Lakers would have the big show EARLY help on the near side block. Ja Morant would then read the help of the big man and the weakside corner If the big and corner were helping early, he would drive and find the corner. If the big was helping and the corner wasn't, he would find the big on the opposite block. If the big AND the corner were waiting for him to drive before showing help, he would force the switch onto a lesser defender and put the Lakers into a position where they had to show help. And as far as the rebounding, Ja Morant's defensive role is simple: When there is a corner camper, matchup with the corner camper. We have also hammered the idea of the Lakers being a horrendous transition defense this season, and we know Ja Morant is at his most fun when he gets out in transition. Expect some easy assists on those plays here. Now as far as the Lakers, they don't hide their strategy of "you are either shooting or passing but you are not driving." While that last matchup was the one that started the drama with his comments about the coaches chewing him out mid-game, it did look like he was figuring out how to read it in the 2nd half. The Grizzlies would put Ja Morant on the wing in an ISO position, with everyone cleared out to the other side. The Lakers would have the big show EARLY help on the near side block. Ja Morant would then read the help of the big man and the weakside corner If the big and corner were helping early, he would drive and find the corner. If the big was helping and the corner wasn't, he would find the big on the opposite block. If the big AND the corner were waiting for him to drive before showing help, he would force the switch onto a lesser defender and put the Lakers into a position where they had to show help. And as far as the rebounding, Ja Morant's defensive role is simple: When there is a corner camper, matchup with the corner camper. With no Reaves, and not matching up on Luka/Lebron, we know this will be the case and should keep him in uncontested weakside rebounding position on any deep shot attempts. This is why he has had 11+ Rebound Chances in 3/4 against the Lakers.

Instead of just talking about it, I wanted to go through it and really break it down to figure out the exact reason for the difference in Jalen Duren's play between the regular season and the playoffs. *LONG BREAKDOWN COMING* First, lets list how much the difference was: Iso in RS: 82nd %ile Iso in PS: 21st %ile Post-ups in RS: 88th %ile Post-ups in PS: 59th %ile PPP on drives in RS: 1.18 ppp PPP on drives in PS: 0.80 Layups in RS: 79th %ile Layups in PS: 19th %ile It was a staggering drop off. Shocking to many of us who watched him all season. So, what happened? Well, #1 I think mentally he was letting his struggles get to him and he started to play out of control. Something that suggests this to me is this stat: He started to figure some things out himself in isolation over the last 2 games against the Cavs. He had six isolation possessions in the final two games against the Cavs; he scored on five of those possessions and drew a foul on the other. Game 6 he started to look confident and really made them pay out of isolation. I really think a ton of it was he got hit with a punch early against ORL and really struggled to handle the pressure and struggles after, and just kept stacking and stacking. So, him being in his own head is #1 for me. #2: His handle got exposed quite a bit. In the regular season, he only had a 4.2 TO% in isolation, which is incredible. In the playoffs, though, that spiked to 20 TO%. On drives in the RS, he had a TO% of 4%. In the PS, it jumped to 13.3%. The first clip below shows how the right-to-left cross he loved doing all season was really taken away from him. Too loose of a handle, and he often got his pocket picked trying this exact move over and over. I think having his go-to move taken from him shook him a bit and left him scrambling a bit in his head to find a counter. The second clip shows, imo, him starting to lose trust in his handle. He immediately turns his back to the defender, which is what you do when you're worried about losing the ball. But, even then, he loses control of the handle and it ends up in a turnover. If I'm the Pistons, I'm showing all his turnovers due to his handle and working with him on tightening his handle and also helping him get comfortable with a counter/second move so defenders don't just sit on the right-to-left cross. #3: I think he really struggled to adjust to the playoff whistle. In the regular season, he drew free throws on 21% of his isolations and 31% of his post-ups. In the PS, it dropped to 14% and 11%, respectively. There were many possessions where in the RS he would've got free throws, but did not in the PS and he was frustrated. In the third clip, you'll see how physical he was being played by Mobley (which we all want physicality in the game). But, in the RS, he probably is getting FTA's here. There are many examples of this where it felt like a lot of his value during the RS was being able to draw FTA's on his drives, and in the PS, refs just allowed more physicality, and he struggled to deal with it. #4: Ausar-Duren duo. I believe in this duo, and I do not think this was the main reason Duren struggled. However, I am not blind to the fact that there were obviously some possessions that hurt Duren. In the regular season, Duen actually got less efficient when Ausar wasn't on the floor. However, in the playoffs, Duren went from 51 TS% with Ausar on the floor (302 minutes) to 64 TS% with Ausar off the floor (121 minutes). In the 4th clip, you really see how the lack of spacing caused a tough shot from Duren. He gets a step on WCJ going right, and probably would prefer to then just use his strength to create spearation. However, he sees Suggs sitting in the right gap off of Ausar, which forces him to spin left. Once he spins left, Paolo is completely leaving Tobias open. This is one of the reasons I really think DET needs a spacing 4 because this should be an easy kickout from Duren to a shooter. He still should've made this pass to Tobias, but a legit shooting 4 I think would relocate to the corner and make an easier outlet/easier to see for Duren. But, he still coulda made the pass, tbf. Either way, you see how the lack of spacing from both Ausar and Tobias forced Duren into a really awkward drive where he was forced into an extremely tough shot. I think if the passing returned from Duren, some of these situations wouldn't happen. Hitting Ausar early as he cuts into the space would work, or hitting Tobias (who again shoulda be making himself more available) beyond the arc results in better offense. But, also, having better spacing probably allows Duren to just get to his original move once he beats WCJ off the dribble. and lastly #5: He really just didn't play well. I can't include any more clips (I'll put some in the immediate thread reply to display), but he really just didn't play well. Missed *a lot* of looks we're used to him making. His touch around the rim left him, looked like he really felt rushed in the paint. He was struggling to secure rebounds after dominating the glass all season (during the RS, he averaged 4.3 second chance points a game, in the PS it dropped to 2.3). During RS, he had a 22.0 DREB%, which dropped to 16.0% in the playoffs. So, I think a lot of factors played into why he struggled so much in the playoffs. My takeaway is I don't think these things are unfixable; actually, I think they're very fixable. Experience of dealing with what playoff physicality is I think is going to help moving forward. All young players have to adjust to that--I think Cade really learned that from NY series to this playoff run. Tightening his handle and just having a second move to go to is not something that should be considered impossible. I'd like to believe it's pretty likely with how much he works and the raw skill he already has with his handle. Pistons adding a legit spacer at the four I think solves a lot and will make Duren's life a lot easier. The most concerning part is mental. And we won't know an answer to that until the next playoffs. Did this experience help him on his journey towards becoming mentally strong and prepared enough to move forward? Did this run help him find a routine that helps him lock in mentally, as many players have said they had to discover? Or will the pressure from struggling last postseason get to him this upcoming postseason? Will he let mistakes get into his head, compound them, and start playing rashly? I don't think the second option will be the case, but no one will know until the next postseason. Honestly, I'm more concerned and critical of his defense in the playoffs (which at times was pretty good and at other times was an incredible struggle), but that would require its own thread. My ending thoughts: I still very much believe in Duren. This playoff run showed he has areas he must sharpen up and learn from, but at 22 that shouldn't be a shocker. He is incredibly talented and made a large jump during the RS. The PS posed challenges he didn't quite have answers to yet. But another run of experience, another offseason of training, and another year older should lead him down a good path. I am fully supportive of paying Duren and extending him. I am not at close to 50 million dollars. 35-40 million is where I think they'll settle on, and I'm fine with that. But, he's gotta learn from these playoffs! Every offseason he's gotten better, I don't have a reason to believe Jalen Duren won't learn and improve again this summer. He's only 22.

Dear Everyone, The last few days have been hell. Losing Kiyo has not been easy and I’m not ok. Kiyo gave me the best time of my life. The level of joy you brought into my word and any space he was able to exist in was incomparable. Kiyo was my lover, my best friend, and my truth. He truly saw me for who I was and I saw him for who he was. I didn’t just love him, I believed in him, prayed for his victory. I cared for him. Who would have thought that bringing back a piece of Tupperware would invite me into the world of the purest, kindest soul in the world. Kiyo would do anything for anyone. He was my hero and I was his. We both kept our capes on for each other whenever we needed to save the other person. I am grateful that I got to experience a love like his. I am grateful I got to spend some of the best moments of my life with him. I am grateful that even I grieve I still feel his warmth and care. Kiyo taught me be more patient and understanding and no matter how we came into this world and no matter how bad the world treated us, it doesn’t give us the right to exact that same unkindness to others. He loves animals, anime, a good meal, Steven Universe, a really inappropriate joke, and you never had to guess how he felt about you. As he was goofy he was charming. I still feel his hands interlocked into mine and he was fearless. He loved like no other man I have met in this world could. The first night we reconnected he gave my cat Patrick the middle name Bayard. He gave me first Christmas full of love and laughs. The first man in my life to actually pay attention to me and surprise me with gifts that he knew I would love and were true to who I was as a nerd. Anytime I could get it, I was with him. He had full access to my home and my heart. To Mike and Rico thank you for always being there for him and caring for him, Mike you coming into town in March really lit him up. First time I got to dance with him. Rico thank you for taking him to there museum. He loved every moment of it. All he could do was rave about how much made his day. To Tony, his wife and his gaming community on Destiny 2, thank you for being patient with my baby and giving him space to be man that he was and to his Dad and his brothers. He loved y’all more than you know. All he wanted was for y’all to be ok. And to all his true friends and loved ones know that he always thought of y’all. I will never say goodbye to Kiyoki-D’Andre Marcel Toliver, I will say see you later because no matter where you are I know you are watching me because what we had was Immortal. As I grieve I will try to give any notice on his memorial service which will be in NYC because his grandmother sent him here to find the best version of himself and I know he truly did. Some of you might didn’t know that there are several videos that many fans haven't had the courage to watch a second time. One is the offline anti-fans in the domestic airport and the other is the blank fans-letter. Some even write letters to him but its full of insult words. Now, all public events are reviewed and fans-letters are received by the team. If you want to know why Leizi doesn't accept letters when entering/leaving the airport/makeup set, and why he has a cold face at the airport and high-speed railway station, look at these pictures and videos (Vid 2 and Pics 3&4) At first, Leizi would chat lively and accept letters at the airport/makeup set. Fans said that when there were letters, he would receive them with excited eyes and both hands. But as his popularity increased, some people handed him empty fans-letter to get views by filming his reactions. (See the first vid for details). He said that he hoped everyone would write a words and not hand him empty letter (he really reads the letters he receives when he is doing his makeup as you can see on his routine vlog uploaded by team or himself). Recently, it got even worse at the airport. The driver was almost through security when he heard someone say they were collecting mail, so he asked a staff member to collect it. When they opened it, it was empty. I still can't bear to watch the shock and disappointment the driver felt at that moment. Rewatching the video isn't about trying to torment fans, but about hoping new fans can understand his experience and empathize with him. He also expressed at his birthday party that he didn't want to meet in public places like this because it's unsafe and disrupts public order. Yesterday, theres some misunderstandings spreaded like “cold face in China,” “differential treatment,” and “kneeling on durians.” Love is mutual symptoms; I hope everyone can love him as much as Cheng Lei loves us.

If you want to know why Leizi doesn't accept letters when entering/leaving the airport/makeup set, and why he has a cold face at the airport and high-speed railway station, look at these pictures and videos (Vid 2 and Pics 3&4) At first, Leizi would chat lively and accept letters at the airport/makeup set. Fans said that when there were letters, he would receive them with excited eyes and both hands. But as his popularity increased, some people handed him empty fans-letter to get views by filming his reactions. (See the first vid for details). He said that he hoped everyone would write a words and not hand him empty letter (he really reads the letters he receives when he is doing his makeup as you can see on his routine vlog uploaded by team or himself). Recently, it got even worse at the airport. The driver was almost through security when he heard someone say they were collecting mail, so he asked a staff member to collect it. When they opened it, it was empty. I still can't bear to watch the shock and disappointment the driver felt at that moment. Rewatching the video isn't about trying to torment fans, but about hoping new fans can understand his experience and empathize with him. He also expressed at his birthday party that he didn't want to meet in public places like this because it's unsafe and disrupts public order. Yesterday, theres some misunderstandings spreaded like “cold face in China,” “differential treatment,” and “kneeling on durians.” Love is mutual symptoms; I hope everyone can love him as much as Cheng Lei loves us.

So a lot has been said about Hearts players being assaulted without any evidence to back it up. Edited footage of the attached video, shows a Celtic fan pushing a Hearts player - I can't distinguish who but others will be able to - however, the edited footage does not tell the full story or context suiting the agendas of those posting it up. The attached video shows the full interaction between the Hearts player and Celtic fan - and here is my take on it along with references to Scots Law after speaking to an acquaintance within the field. The Celtic fan, like others on the pitch, can be charged with Breach of the Peace for simply entering the field of play and the Celtic fan in question will almost certainly face such a charge. However, here is where it gets sticky. He is not breaking the law by simply goading or laughing at the Hearts player and videoing it. Under Scots Law, if someone knocks your phone out of your hand and then proceeds to stamp on it repeatedly - as the Hearts player did - then they can be charged with criminal damage (vandalism under the Criminal Law (Consolidation) (Scotland) Act 1995). Under section 52 of the Criminal Law (Consolidation) (Scotland) Act 1995, vandalism is committed when someone “wilfully or recklessly” destroys or damages property belonging to another “without reasonable excuse.” A mobile phone clearly falls within “property belonging to another,” and repeatedly stamping on it generally satisfies the “without reasonable excuse” and “wilful or reckless” requirements. It doesn’t matter if the incident happens on public/private property or in this case on a football pitch. The person who stomps on the phone is still potentially facing a charge for vandalism, even if the Celtic fan seen here is committing a breach of the peace by entering the field of play. The breach of the peace charge would be dealt with separately, it doesn’t erase the Hearts player's criminal responsibility for trying to destroy the fan's property. The Celtic fan is then seen pushing the footballer away in order to stop them from destroying their phone/property and attempts to recover it before stewards pounce on him, that push may amount to lawful self-defence or defence of property if it's proportionate and immediate, which in this case seems to be the case. Under Scots law, force is allowed if there’s an imminent threat, that the force is necessary, and it’s not excessive. A brief, measured push to create distance or break contact is usually treated as reasonable, not criminal assault. The Hearts player fell into this category when he initially swatted the phone out of the fan's hand and so too did the fan by pushing the Hearts player away in an attempt to retrieve his property. But as soon as the Hearts player started stamping on the phone that is deemed excessive force. Legally, the fan's breach of the peace [invasion of the pitch and goading] doesn’t give the Hearts player a licence to destroy the fan's property; and the fan's efforts to protect his own property can be deemed lawful, as long as the force used is proportionate and immediate. And yet, given the nature of the pitch invasion and the media coverage of it - the Hearts player could ultimately dodge any charge not because he is not guilty of committing a crime, but because the COPFS apply the 'public interest' test - even if evidence exists, they may conclude that prosecution is not in the public interest because of factors such as: 1. The relatively low value of the phone vs wider consequences (a star player, media circus, club reputation) 2. The player’s status and the likely impact on the sport or club 3. Whether alternative measures (internal club sanctions, fines, apologies, civil settlement) are seen as “sufficient.” Prosecutors are not obliged to prosecute every technically guilty act. As for the fan, as mentioned earlier, his entry onto the pitch is deemed a Breach of the Peace and he would be charged, fined, and issued with a football banning order - with Celtic also potentially banning him for x number of years. Ps/ Much of this was told to me verbatim and I have put it into my own words as much as I can.
