will automatically turn on when it detects hard prompts and you have Pro search enabled. stuff like “pull me all the IMO medal winners from China in the last 5 years and give it to me a table”, “read Buffett’s shareholder letters and tell me the key highlight from each year”, etc.

this would be super valuable through the Perplexity API! web search workflows that currently consist of a few cobbled together tools and prompt chains could be replaced by Perplexity’s reasoning powered search

Hey Aravind, do you think at some point there would be a mid tier for Perplexity? I love it but can’t find myself paying 20 bucks for a search engine. Basic Pro search (without API credit etc. ) for a lower price tier would be useful

Perplexity Comet Assistant got a major upgrade yesterday. It’s now much more reliable and performs 23% better in internal tests, so I decided to put it to the test. The task was to handle my LinkedIn account, follow the CEO of Perplexity, find a specific post, and comment under it, and it nailed it in one shot. It’s navigating more like a human now, and its reasoning at each step is quite good in how it decides the next move. Comet has become really powerful.

Josh Barnett reveals his reasoning for ending Bloodsport: “I wasn’t trying to make a big deal out of it. I didn’t want it to come off as a gimmick. There were a lot of conflicting feelings within my own heart about whether this was going to be the case or not. When all is said and done, I feel like I absolutely made the right choice here. It wasn’t for anything negative. There wasn’t a tragedy, and there wasn’t some overarching bad issue or problem in that sense. For me, Bloodsport had an evolution of where it was trying to get to, and we’re just not there—we’re not close. For me, it was better to end it now than to keep going and, quite possibly, diminish what the product is.”
