The propaganda of Tobey’s Spider-Man not quipping or having a personality needs to be studied

His Spider-Man very much reflects the type of corny quipping that predated those movies in stuff like the 90s series and earlier comics. For the time I think it's perfect.

I’m glad I’m not as miserable as some of y’all. I’ve enjoyed every iteration of Spider-Man. I don’t play favorites, I genuinely love them all equally.

Important to keep in mind that ever since guardians of the galaxy, EVERY single MCU film has arguably been “too” funny or quippy. Anyone who argues Tobey’s spidey isn’t funny or lacks personality, has probably grown up in the MCU era.

It’s bc most of these Marvel stan kids didn’t even watch the Raimi trilogy, they just saw 5 minute TikTok recaps of it

Tom Holland will never have a fight this epic and brutal, nor such a complex character arc. To empathize with this character, you need more than just action. Something Tobey's Spider-Man still delivers to this day. Sam Raimi explored deep themes that resonate with viewers.

He doesnt talk a ton but I think the moments he does do it are really funny lol honestly I kinda wish theyd make spiderman talk a bit less nowadays. Tom's spiderman never seems to shit the f up. I get spiderman does that but in live action its kinda annoying af imo

You have to have the personality of a wet blanket to actually think these are funny. Black spidey in these movies is the only one who the writers gave any real personality. Mind you he’s supposed to he 17-22 in these movies and has the personality of a 40yr old

Tobey’s quips and jokes always felt forced and unnatural. Really one of the biggest issues with him AS spiderman
