Dual income households was once an option, now it’s an obligation to simply live ☠️

The point is when women entered the workforce, suddenly families could “afford nicer homes”. The pace of building didn’t keep up, and now two incomes are necessary for even modest homes. Plus the kids don’t have someone dedicated to taking care of them.

This wasn't true for working class families in post war Britain. Both my sets of grandparents both worked. They were working class, they did mostly manual jobs and to make ends meet they worked and lived modest lives. The shift is that it's impacted the middle class as well.

growing gdp doesn’t imply maximizing labor hours, in fact, the greater the gdp of a country the less likely you need to work…

Funny how he has to say he’s not trying to say women should stay at home That’s because the elites have convinced women that they have the right to work and any suggestion that they don’t work evokes hysterical outbursts If he reversed the argument there aren’t many men who would say I’d rather work if given the option of working or not working Most men know and understand work is slave labour but we need the dosh to live Men understand that they need unions to fight for better working conditions - that’s why they encouraged women into the workplace in the first place because women don’t join unions
