Held in July 1947, the NWFP (now Khyber Pakhtunkhwa) referendum saw 99% vote to join Pakistan over 1% India. Despite a boycott by Bacha Khan's Khudai Khidmatgars over the exclusion of an independent "Pashtunistan" option, the province officially integrated into Pakistan.

The Referendum was boycotted by 50% of the population(Pashtuns) since there was no mention of Pakhtunistan or Afghanistan

In KP 1947 (Tribal Areas & Swat state) wasn't part of KP at that time. Pashtun population = 65% Non-Pashtun = 35% You said 50% Pashtun didn’t vote 50% of 65/2= 32.5% Even if you added all those 32.5% to 1% which India got = 33.5% Final result = 🇵🇰 67% vs 33% 🇮🇳

!

@Ikramyousefzai The turnover was around 50 percent, I'm the whole universe it's very standard turnover, so most people didn't cast vote just because of laziness and Khudai Khidmatgar were never 50% of nwfp population.

@Ikramyousefzai Lol, laziness? Check the turnover difference b/w Hazara & Pashtun majority areas will understand why Pashtuns weren't in support of creation of Pakistan & rather wanted independent Pakhtunistan

Modern day Khyber Pakhtunwa became part of Pakistan through legitimate means. The vast majority of Pakistani Pashtuns even rejected both India and Afghanistan back then. Even if Bacha Khan had taken part in the referendum it would have made no difference.

Ummaah

You lot hate Pakistan, yet you can't stop talking about it. Life must be exhausting carrying around such a heavy burden of hate for so long, Sandip.

That’s a misinterpretation of my point. I share my views on historical events and question whether they were driven by a genuine pursuit of justice or by political agendas built on misleading narratives.

India’s only hope was Bacha Khan & his party, but their boycott made the referendum a formality. Even without a boycott, the result would have the same. India was never a viable choice geographically (no border), religiously or culturally, the local connection was always with Pak

How come Bangladesh (East Pakistan) happened? In subcontinent 75 to 80 percent of population is religious but they don't practice good things written in religious books. Acceptance, Coexistence and respect and trust for others are missing in our daily lives....

It was peshor at that time , then became peshawar near 1980s.

These 3% are people from lal topi parties like PKMAP and ANP

Actually were 1% ...

A big fallacy. The complete and actual results of the referendum due to boycott of the KK and in spite of widespread rigging was as under, Total registered votes. 572,798 Votes polled. 292,118(51%) In favour 289244 out of total registered votes of 572798(51%)

Appreciate, all of the content of past, you have been posting

How you have all these videos 😀

I've got my sources 😄

@grok where to find more clips such as this on Pakistan

Those 3%(Afghandus and Talibandus) are still have infaction in their blood and they are still commencing terror attack in Pakistan…

What was the sentiment of the people of Peshawar during those final days? Could you kindly elaborate your pov? The idea of Pakistan was still very new and ambiguous back then, and information was scarce too.

The sentiment was clear, overwhelmingly for Pakistan. The July 1947 Referendum (99%+ yes) proved it. The same Pashtuns fought 3 wars & endless battles against British rule, Pashtuns knew their path. Tribal Maliks pledged allegiance to Jinnah & Wali of Swat acceded seamlessly.

KP didn't exist back then. It was NWFP.

Stupids

فیک ریفرنڈم

Now ?

It should have become Part of Afghanistan, since the people there are Pashtun/afghan.

Afghan betrayed us not one but thrice 👇

That’s because most of us Hindus/Sikhs/Buddhists moved during Mughal/British rule. Those are my ancestral lands.

Pakjabi Army has never lost an election(or referendum).

Now the Pashtuns are enjoying the fruits of that decision. Their leader and his family being tortured in jail. Their women being kidnapped by Punjabi Pakistani soldiers. Their kids arrested across Pakistani Universities. Now they get to CRAWL towards Islamabad. So much izzat 🥲

On 1946, British (Pakistan) attacked Waziristan by bomber jets and killed 1500 Elders who were doing Jirga in the command of Mirza Ali Khan, not to join Pakistan and had Independent state. Sadly you won’t share this information to the audience because daddy gonna get angry.

So the Pathans freely voted to join Pakistan not make their own country thanks
