Soo let me get this straight, we won’t put a task force out for Palestinian business that was firebombed, we won’t investigate church that was firebombed but the Jewish synagogue that was firebombed immediately gets kitchen sink thrown at it. Blatant double standard of our justice system.

This was the darkest day Australia has faced since the Port Arthur Massacre in April 1996. Bondi Beach is a symbol of Australia. These murders are a desecration against us all. I acknowledge the swift and courageous response of New South Wales Police and paramedics, whose immediate action helped secure the scene, protect lives and support those caught up in this horrific attack. I particularly recognise those who stepped into danger to help save lives, disarm the terrorists, and render first aid to the wounded. We have all seen video footage of brave civilians, charging into danger in an effort to save lives. They are heroes. I share the nation’s revulsion and horror as we continue listening to the sorrow and heartbreak in the testimonials we are hearing. Many Australians are feeling a growing sense of bewilderment. There is palpable anger. And I share that anger. Because Antisemitism in Australia has been left to fester. Right now, over 5,000 people have joined us and our allies in marching through Central London chanting for the release of innocent hostages being held captive by antisemitic, genocidal Hamas terrorists. People from right across the Jewish community, from every denomination, are uniting with us to say that the UK must focus all of its diplomatic pressure on securing the return of the hostages. In the worst antisemitic attack since the Holocaust, Hamas murdered some 1,200 people and kidnapped 251 on 7th October 2023. There are still 50 hostages who must be returned. The situation for the hostages is absolutely desperate. They have been held in torturous conditions in Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad dungeons in Gaza, deliberately starved to the point of looking like walking skeletons in scenes reminiscent of Nazi concentration camps. The war would end tomorrow if Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad would release the hostages, and if the British Government is going to get involved at all, it must be to apply pressure to Hamas and its allies to release the hostages, not reward them by recognising a Palestinian state. However, she has become the target of anti-Israel activists who are attempting to silence her both physically and online. Since October 7, 2023, when Hamas launched a terror attack on Israel that resulted in approximately 1,200 deaths and more than 250 people being taken hostage, Montreal has become a hub for large-scale anti-Israel protests. Some leaders of these protests, affiliated with a group called Montreal4Palestine, openly glorify figures associated with terrorist organizations, such as Yahya Sinwar (Hamas) and Hassan Nasrallah (Hezbollah). Antisemitic slogans have been chanted during these protests, and antisemitic crimes have surged in Montreal. In the year following October 7, 2023, the Montreal Police reported 212 antisemitic crimes in the city. However, political leaders seem to be treating the issue with insufficient urgency. Natasha Graham, while covering these events, has faced direct harassment from organizers and activists linked to Montreal4Palestine. Despite what my detractors say, I have endeavoured to be balanced and consistent in my messaging on Ireland and our problem with antisemitism and anti-Israel bias. These have always been my three main points: 1. The label that Ireland holds as ‘the most antisemitic country in Europe’ is a reductive one and not accurate on certain metrics, specifically with respect to physical violence. 2. We have not reckoned with our history of antisemitism and the denial of the scale of the issue here (and even sometimes its very existence) is what makes it difficult to combat. This denial emboldens antisemitism in Ireland further and only serves to make our problem significantly more apparent on an international stage. 3. Irish antisemitism is institutional. To deny it at this stage is folly. This week alone an open Hamas supporter spoke at a protest vigil organised by National Union of Journalist (NUJ) members and the Dublin Broadcasting branch. Both our political and media establishments are entrenched in anti-Israel bias and have a significant antisemitism problem. Please watch below from my first public speech on this subject back in April. I’ll always defend Ireland against sensationalised claims, but will nonetheless never be silenced on the fact that we do have an antisemitism problem and we are long overdue a reckoning for it.

In the first four minutes of the short clip, John Ruddick effectively blames the rise of antisemitism in Australia on the Israeli government and the local Jewish community — whom he casually refers to as "Avi and his friends." He accuses the Jewish community of promoting censorship and claims their efforts to conflate criticism of Israel with antisemitism are what’s driving the increase in antisemitism. He also falsely claims that antisemitism did not exist in Australia prior to October 7. As an openly religious Jew, I can personally attest that this claim is not only false — it's absurd. Antisemitism has existed in Australia long before October 7, and I know that from personal experience. But at the 4:09 mark, the tone suddenly shifts. When confronted with the actions of certain individuals and representatives within the Muslim community — including flag burnings and calls for Australia’s downfall at pro-Palestine rallies — Ruddick takes an entirely different approach. Take, for example, Nasser Mashni, head of the Australia Palestine Advocacy Network and a key organiser of the rallies. When questioned about the burning of the Australian flag at one of his events, Mashni dismissed it as “just a piece of silk.” He has also referred to Australia as a “s***hole.” Yet despite these radical and inflammatory remarks, Ruddick refuses to condemn them. In fact, he chooses to march alongside these figures. He doesn’t even entertain the idea of holding them accountable — nor would he ever suggest that their actions contribute to anti-Islamic sentiment in the country. Rukshan challenged Ruddick on this inconsistency, pointing out the fifth-column behaviour of Mashni and other members of the Islamic/Palestinian community, and asking how Australians are expected to support a movement so openly hostile to the nation. Ok so here’s what’s happening. For the past few days, pagers and radios used by Hezbollah terrorists to communicate and coordinate attacks on Israelis have been exploding. This is a major development in a war that began nearly a year ago, when Hezbollah, in coordination with Hamas, joined the attacks on Israel. On October 7 Hamas invaded Israel, murdering thousands of Israeli civilians and kidnapping hundreds more. The very next day on October 8th Hezbollah joined the war. Both of these terrorist groups are backed trained and funded by the Islamic Republic of Iran, the world’s largest sponsor of terrorism. And for the past 11 months, Hezbollah has fired over 8,500 rockets and drones at Israel, that’s almost 1000 attacks each month, forcing nearly 100,000 Israelis away from their homes. Dozens of Israeli civilians have been killed. Including, horrifically the 12 children who were playing soccer in Majdal Shams when an Iranian-made rocket, launched by Hezbollah, struck the playground and killed them. And this week, Hezbollah suffered a significant blow. Every single person who was carrying one of these devices was part of Hezbollah’s terrorist operation. If you had them, you are a part of Iran’s terrorist occupation of the Middle East and you are a part of Iran’s ring of fire that’s trying to take Israel down.
