He was falsely accused of killing two white girls without a single piece of solid evidence, simply because he was the last person seen with them. He wasn't allowed to see his family, was interrogated without a lawyer, and "confessed" under pressure and fear. His trial lasted only a few hours with an all-white jury. Just 81 days after his arrest, he was executed in the electric chair. He was so small that his feet didn't reach the floor, so they had to place a Bible under him to make the straps fit. The most shocking part: he was innocent. In 2014, seventy years later, a court officially overturned the conviction and declared him innocent. But George never came back. His story became a symbol of racial injustice and the failures of the legal system—a child executed in the name of justice, but justice came far too late.

This is what a Former DPP (in two countries), Peter Kabatsi told the Chief Prosecutor: “any attempt by the prosecution to suppress evidence is fatal. You know that Mr Muwaganya, you’re killing your case!” He was heated. This case has taught me so much about Uganda’s criminal justice system. I can write a book or two. Anyways, just like you, I hope justice prevails and that we get some criminal justice reforms at the end of it all.

WWII Memorial Vandal Charged US Attorney Jeanine Pirro announced felony charges Friday against Melissa L. Farris for allegedly pouring bubble soap into the World War II Memorial fountain and spray-painting the cryptic message “Clean Hands Dirty $” in red graffiti on the sacred monument. “Vandalizing our World War II Memorial is a despicable attack on a sacred monument honoring the Americans who fought and died for our freedom. Those Americans include my father and grandfather,” Pirro stated. Farris faces two felony counts—depredation against property of the United States and destruction of veterans’ memorials—each carrying up to 10 years in prison. She is now in federal custody. Vandalizing any memorial honoring our troops is a ghastly act. To desecrate a World War II memorial should result in a minimum of one year in prison. I’d be fine with 3 to 5 years for the convicted perpetrator. Given what our troops gave so we can be free, there should never be any disrespect levied at their sacrifice.

I asked him when Peter Mandelson was granted STRAP level access after the FCDO Appointments and Interchange Officer informed him it was a role requirement on 4 February 2025. He commenced the role on the 10th. The question is whether Peter Mandelson had access to STRAP level intelligence before he was given the appropriate clearance?
