They fraudulently filed and received VAT refunds from the Chinese government (even though they never paid VAT for this #Gold). Here is the part that framing leaves out. US farm exports to China collapsed 65.7% last year. They fell to $8.4 billion. China had been one of the top three buyers of American crops. Trump’s tariffs closed that market. China retaliated with its own tariffs. American farmers lost a year of sales while Brazil and Argentina took the business. Brazil’s soybean exports to China hit a record 85 million metric tons in 2025. Today’s “win” is China agreeing to partly reopen the door the US closed.
