Peterson thinks it’s completely unknown if the Nazis were left or right wing. He had a study planned that could have resolved it but the damn woke mob stole his professorship before he could do it. So now it’s a completely open question.

Weird that he didn't offer a single policy as an example and apparently thinks that nobody else has ever looked at or analyzed the policies that he can't think of.

Didn't Hitler send actual socialists/communists to concentration camps specifically for their ideology?

His argument is solid. You’ve offered no counter.

Yes it’s very hard to find any historian who has discussed this issue and Peterson’s argument that they had ‘Socialism’ in their name is absolutely water tight. You are a very good critical thinker! 🫡

I found a way to figure out what large language models think about this question.

So, only Jordan Peterson could have run that test? Seems ... unlikely.

Has anyone asked him if North Korea is democratic? It’s right there in the name (DPRK) - maybe no one has done the analysis needed on that.

From there, Peterson launched into something even darker. He said the biggest threat isn’t ideological—it’s psychological. And it’s creeping into the political right. “I think virtualization has enabled the psychopaths,” Peterson said. “That’s a terrible thing, because psychopathic types are always the death of everything. I’m seeing this come up on the right now,” he warned. Peterson is developing a theory of political psychopathology—and it’s already revealing what many are starting to feel. Rogan asked if this is where the term “the woke right” comes in. Peterson replied, “Yes, well, Lindsay is pointing at that, but he hasn’t got the diagnosis exactly right. It isn’t ‘woke’—that’s not the issue. It’s not exactly what we’re talking about.” Rogan added, “The term ‘woke’ just helps you clarify in your head: ‘Oh, it’s like that.’ Like Antifa.” “Exactly,” Peterson responded. But the real problem, he explained, is “that 4–5% of the population is cluster B—using DSM-5 terms: histrionic, narcissistic, antisocial, psychopathic. They have dark tetrad traits: Machiavellian, sadistic. That’s about 4%.” Peterson said. “They go to where the power is, adopt those ideas, and put themselves at the forefront. But the ideas are completely irrelevant,” he explained. “All they’re doing is playing the role of the Pharisees—the modern version—using God’s name in vain as they proclaim moral virtue.” “Doesn’t matter if it’s right or left, Christian, Jewish, or Islamic. They invade the idea space and use those ideas as false weapons to advance their narcissistic advantage.” According to Peterson, the left experienced this first. Now, it’s infecting the right.

Jordan Peterson explained the Woke Right ("Alt Right") back in 2018. It's not new, but two things are. 1) It's making a concerted bid for power in mainstream conservative spaces now and significantly succeed after years of infiltration 2) We know what makes them "Alt" is Woke. There's an interesting additional point here that's very important. Peterson is talking about how the Left tried to label him "Alt Right" as a polarizing smear. The Woke Left could do that because it can draw a distinction between itself and the reaction it created so long as there's distinction in the names. They could make it seem like there was a sprawling Alt Right that's really evil and scary and only the Woke Left can resist it. Peterson was having to defy this at considerable effort, and much of the Left didn't buy it anyway. This is the dialectic. The term "Woke Right" throws a monkey wrench into this dialectical program and breaks the machine. The (Woke) Left can post up and do the dialectic against any name for it except "Woke Right." The reason is that the term "Woke Right" is derivative to Woke, so you cannot think of the Woke Right without also thinking of the Woke Left, which is the referent. What makes the Woke Right bad is being almost just like the Woke Left. "Woke," not Left or Right, becomes the problem, short-circuiting the dialectic and neutering the Left on this dimension of their united front tactics. It therefore puts the problem squarely where it belongs: on Woke. This frees people up to consider Left and Right (better: liberal and conservative) outside of the polarizing game of radical extremes. It was this factor that ultimately sold me completely on the term "Woke Right" not just as accurate and good but as genius. H/t (clip and argument) Entropyrian, who is a great follow.

NEW: Jordan Peterson just dropped a chilling warning—psychopaths are taking over the right. He told Joe Rogan the danger isn’t ideological—it’s psychological. “I think virtualization has enabled the psychopaths,” Peterson said. “That’s a terrible thing, because psychopathic types are always the death of everything. I’m seeing this come up on the right now.” He’s building a new theory of political psychopathology. And it explains what we’re all starting to see. “I’ve been working on a new theory of political psychopathology, and I like it quite a lot.” Rogan asked: “Is this where the term ‘the woke right’ comes in?” Peterson replied: “Yes, well, Lindsay is pointing at that, but he hasn’t got the diagnosis exactly right. It isn’t ‘woke’—that’s not the issue. It’s not exactly what we’re talking about.” Rogan clarified: “The term ‘woke’ just helps you clarify in your head: ‘Oh, it’s like that.’ Like Antifa.” “Exactly,” Peterson said. But he made it clear: the real problem isn’t the ideas—it’s the people behind them. “The argument is predicated on the claim that the ideas are the problem—like the woke ideas, whether on the right or the left. But that’s not the problem.” Then he dropped the psychological nuke: “The problem is that 4–5% of the population is cluster B—using DSM-5 terms: histrionic, narcissistic, antisocial, psychopathic. They have dark tetrad traits: Machiavellian, sadistic. That’s about 4%. How do these people maneuver?” “They go to where the power is, adopt those ideas, and put themselves at the forefront. But the ideas are completely irrelevant.” And here’s the gut punch: “All they’re doing is playing the role of the Pharisees—the modern version—using God’s name in vain as they proclaim moral virtue.” “Doesn’t matter if it’s right or left, Christian, Jewish, or Islamic. They invade the idea space and use those ideas as false weapons to advance their narcissistic advantage.” The left got hit first. Now it’s the right’s turn. “The right is going to face this more and more, particularly because the left had to face it when they were in power,” Peterson said. “So how do you identify the psychopathic parasites—4% of the population—clothed in your clothing, waving your flags, but only in it for narcissistic benefit?”
